How many of the old gang (15 plus years ago) are still here?

Short story, ended up on ATS but left after Alex Jones took over politicizing the whole website. Miss the old ATS

Official in 07 for me, lurked before that. I came for the aliens, John leer, and crypto stuff. To much politics now.

to kind of answer the question - out of 554 account creations in 2002 [ the first year of operation ] - i CBA doing the 1st 12 months - as its too hard - but just from site going live to 01. JANURARY 2003

554 signups - and only 12 of them have logged in during 2020

of the 311 705 accouts -

only 3550 have more than 1000 posts

only 25652 have more than 50 posts

226090 - have 2 or fewer posts

this is neither a condemnation of those who dont post - nor a congrats to those who do

just facts of how ATS " usere content " is acrrued

Welcome back

So many great people, amazing researchers and members are no longer active.
It was better here when conspiracies were a fringe topic. When everything including this site started getting more mainstream attention it created an influx of new members which was both good and bad.
You get a combination of trolls attacking serious threads that were well researched and many new to theories that get excited about all this new knowledge and threads get created just rehashing topics already discussed and debunked. After a while it gets tiresome.
Most are already frustrated over too much politics and now too much pandemic threads. I wouldn't know where to begin to create the balance of research and camaraderie that once existed here. But almost 13 years running and even after a hiatus I'm still here.

Been here since '98 ... precognitively waited in the ether for 4 years and then happily paid to shape and monitor for a number of years before falling in love with my subjects and joining years later.

They stopped paying me when the partisan mind control tech went live and payed shills were obsolete.

Most of the old timers have moved on to the elite sites only they know about.

I joined in 2011 and lurked a long time before that.

ATS is still the best in my eyes, for its ease of use and easy to read layout. The search bar could be better.

I have learnt more from this sites members threads and links than any other, that continues today.

The only thing different for me now is time, so am more of a lurker now.

A few things have changed. No more PTS nor ATSNN and BTS is on the same site. But most of the separate forums were integrated into ATS proper. Points mean nothing now, so no more disappointment over dropping 5000 points on RATS now nor 500 point monthly subscription. But that also means there is no monthly WATS prize awarded anymore.

There is a Survival Forum now so you don’t have to tag the title and start it in General Conspiracy or BBQ anymore. Which means you don’t have to do descriptors tags at the end to help the ATS search. Of course the ATS search isn’t as good anymore. Oh, you don’t have to spend points to expand your U2U inbox and they are called PM’s now. MATS is gone as well, but only a few people figured out how to customize it like MySpace anyway.

But some of the long timers that remember anything of what I just posted about are still around. Despite are the changes and improvements, we still get threads about ATS isn’t like the good old days. One of my favorites was from 2004 a couple years before I joined.

Saw your avatar, then scrolled down to my own and saw the border and thought to myself “When the heck did I write enough to be a Gold Content Contributor?”

They made me a mod a couple weeks after the Silver and that ended my reduced ads perk.

I almost qualify-my 15 year ATS birthday is in 3months,lurked a while before that.
I came for the UFOs/mysteries,and to see if anyone could convince me we haven't slipped into a weird parallel reality.
No one has.
I still like it here,even though the redditification/mass wussification of society has permeated some of the fabric of ATS,there are still good threads and minds here if you dig deep.
