Miles of people in tents and cardboard boxes, and anything they can put together to protect them from the weather. Fortunately the weather is usually nice and winter livable outdoors in California this time of year. A can of worms........ a bottle of Nitro on a roller coaster ? Poverty squared. No where else to go and not easily contained either. Santa Ana River bottom homeless, Skid row.... you get the picture. Their numbers statewide likely in the tens of thousands plus. Easily communicable through no fault of their own, victims. Might be a wise move to activate the FEMA Shelters all the conspiracy people speak of. Much more easily treated and monitored, and a bit of hygiene offerings to boot.

Have you thought of this ? Certainly social gatherings, concerts and amusement parks might be curtailed for some time. Ocean voyages, Amtrak Vacations and planned summer coming-up activities involving 'groups'
Not to mention fast foods and grocery stores and commercial businesses ?

It's endless, this 'Perfect Storm' Hope you weather this well... and perhaps a bit of Prayer might not be unwelcome either... and as Obama said, 'this is only one of 57 states' lol....... Ad them to the equasion and it gets very awkward, very fast.

Oh, I've thought of the homeless ... I mean urban campers on the West Coast. If it gets into them, the whole place burns, and the death toll in the US will jump. It's inevitable. You're talking about a population in poor health with all kinds of underlying health conditions.

The West Coast has set themselves up for a plague of Biblical proportions by letting this problem ferment out there. You know it's bad when formerly medieval diseases are making a comeback and getting toeholds.

Depending on your source there are an estimated 151,000 homeless in CA (I saw a number more like 185,000).

They have been battling a hepatitis A out break for, what, a couple years now. And that is just the street! Add in IV drug addicts and you can add hep C is in there.

For crying out loud there was an outbreak of typhus!! In 2020!

Yeah, CoVid-19 would be bad as you can’t just bodies lay in streets. Then all health workers needed, protective gear, sterilization facilities for the equipment, transportation, etc.

But hey, it is only a cold (wrong). And only hits people with preexisting conditions (like health ministers and doctors!). /sarcasm

I have said that when we hit 500 people dying a day we should all be worried. I predicted last Thursday but was way off.

For most people who are young and otherwise healthy, it won't be much more severe than a cold or flu. That doesn't mean it's just a cold.

Or look at it this way, for most people, a cold isn't a very bad thing to get. We feel crappy, but as we're mostly healthy, our bodies make pretty short work of it almost every time. It's when our immune systems are compromised by age or ill health that otherwise mild illnesses like colds become threats to us.

Interesting. We in the midwest wish you folks on the coast would stop screwing over your states so badly that you make them unlivable and then move out here bringing your voting ways with you so you can make our states unlivable by voting for the exact same policies that led your own states to the same state of ruin. We have a word for it -- Californicated, and we see you refugees like locusts destroying one place before moving on to devour another.
