I highly doubt that most grocery items will have anything to do with the virus, especially, yogurt, etc. Now products from China and the like . . . sure . . . I have been told that my works supply line for parts for an Asian-area car company will be short or null for a short time. My area Walmart stores shelves are full besides early morning stocking time while they restock those shelves.

If people expect they may be asked to self-quarantine/stay at home in a large area similar to a winter storm or hurricane, then I would expect to see runs on the stores, but until then, people are going to keep on keeping on. We may be buying a bit extra as we go along, but it doesn't look like we're suddenly shucking mass quantities into our shopping cart. At most, we're doubling or tripling or adding quantities of items we might not otherwise buy here or there.

Only reason I know is I was just there two weeks ago and I'm back this week, they're one of our customers.

Right on. I've got no particular animosity towards them. I just don't get out to Aurora much and would have to pass a bunch of King Soopers to do so and I've never seen one in Denver proper.*

*Let's be honest. I've probably driven right past the 44th Ave location and just didn't "see" it.

EDIT: Now I feel like a dumbass. There is one at Hampden Town Center to and that's basically one freeway exit over + a light jog. Whoops!

Let this be a lesson to everyone.

Prepare for emergencies before the emergencies happen.

It's crazy that people are choosing now to prepare.
Being at those stores with all those people is the last place you want to be during a pandemic.

I prepared for many situations long ago. No need for me to take a trip anywhere for at lest 6 months.
So I don't know if the walmarts here are running dry.

Iv'e heard so many reports of people rushing out to buy things recently so I would guess that yes. They are probably getting low everywhere.

I am a Walmart employee. It was really, REALLY busy this weekend, and a lot of stuff is now out of stock. I think it has very little to do with an outbreak scare, and everything to do with people who received earned income tax credit starting to get their returns within the last week. Add 1st of the month EBT, WIC, etc... to that fact, and really nice weather, and you get an extremely busy weekend. I have seen a lot of customers wearing facemasks though. So there's that.

A simple Google search shows that there are 16 in Denver.

Overall though I feel like in general stores, at least where I am on the East Coast didnt seem any more or less busy or out of supplies for this time of year.

Suburban Chicago Walmarts are all out of Rubbing Alcohol and Lysol. Those two items are components of a CoronaVirus "kit" Illinois Government agencies are advising residents to keep in their home.

Was just at one of my local Walmarts earlier tonight in La Crosse, WI. Parking lot was about as full as usual when I do my shopping, shelves looked about normal. Didn't head down the TP/paper towel aisle as I didn't need anything so no idea about that but every other shelf looked stocked about like normal. AFAIK only the 1 case in Madison, WI so far so maybe the panic hasn't reached here yet?

Here is my tub that I use to bring up my food to my apartment.

Did you cover the goodies from "prying eyes" taking them up to the apartment? Are you going to stay home from work to guard them?

Wiped out of the lysol and clorox wipes and sprays. Not just sold out, the warehouse doesn't have any and they're being sent elsewhere. Probably where they can be sold at higher prices, but Wal Mart( and Amazon) are known to be a supply arm of the US government in the event of a national emergency. They'll use their transit and warehouse and supply system to get emergency supplies where needed. And they're all built in close proximity to army supply depots and national guard camps.....
