Public Service Announcement about Private Messages....

Just a little Public Service Announcement to all Members, old and new.
Some of you may not be aware of the little envelop in the upper right hand corner of the ATS page.


That is the portal to your Private Messages.
It is something that needs checking on a regular basis, as it does not light up or change.
[It used to become all white when you had a new message, but those days are gone. Had something to do with site stability, IIRC.]

You never know when another member or a mod might want to converse with you. Whether it a an applause, a site reprimand, a recipe, or just a hello, those Messages are a way to talk off the board without prying eyes.

You should also clean out those message no longer needed, both the inbox and the outbox.

It is a double sided knife though because for the last twelfe years I have been checking my messages religiously in the hope of getting a message.....

I guess you might have been speaking directly to me here with this information. I was unaware of this portal so I clicked it and wham, there I found a bunch of warning from forum staff, the vast majority being from you. So ok then, I will now go back to that list and wipe them clean as requested.

Side note, are you the only mod working anymore?

No she just works harder than us.

Been here a long time didn't know they didn't 'light up' anymore!!

One thing I do know is they are anything but 'private' ...

Had no idea that it didn't light up when something was there. Well, I don't have any PM's, but still nice to know, heh.

Also important to note...if you send a message and go to your outbox to read what you send the message will be marked as read with the recipient and might not notice your message.

To add to what Drums said -

Many if not nearly all decisions are made by a consensus, after a discussion among Staff on a special forum we have for that. All communications regarding any Staff actions are posted and visible to all of us.

Who actually clicks on an icon, does not mean they are the only one involved in the decision. When you see my name attached or anyone elses name, there may have been a half dozen of us who discussed it first.

Well, as this was for information purposes only, anyone who needs to reach out to other members or mods can PM them.
