Ozzy Osbourne and Elton John on the same record , kind of like a banana and cheese sandwich in my book.
Ordinarily (see what I did there ) I would rip this as melancholy wallowing by someone who should know better but sometimes odd combinations work
and as this is Ozzy preparing for his own death I'm willing to cut him some slack because I love the guy and have since the day I was given a copy of
Blizzard , it's been a long road and now I watch as my hero fades from this life to join the rock greats at the big gig in the sky.
Alongside Elton are Slash and Duff McKagan ably assisted by Chad Smith on drums.
To be honest I find it a tough listen , not because it's bad but because of what it signifies as the wild man of rock approaches the end of the
road.
I know there are many Ozzy fans on ATS so I'd like your opinions on the song.
I really liked this song. But Ozzy will never be remembered as an ordinary man in my eyes. He had his own style. I always crank it up when the Oz is a
playin.
Thanks for sharing this.
The song is crap...
I love both singers dearly: Black Sabbath, but also his solo work, I love it.
Elton John’s Madman across the water album is one of my favorites all time.
But this song is crap. The voices are so distorted. Terrible.
I will try to forget this song ever happened, it hurts my love for these artists.
I have to agree with Goedhardt on the vocals...I love both Elton and Ozzy but it's time for retirement.
I stayed for the inevitable solo from Slash....that man touches my soul. Nice to hear Duff and Slash together...take me back to that paradise city of
'89.
Hot off the press , Ozzy has just released this video for Ordinary Man looking back at his life and career through pictures and video from what
appears to be his personal archive.
