I got ahold of them on FB chat and they said to pay it online. The online services are unable to process it.

It is a bad day when the credit card company cant take your money.

The emergency coronavirus bill still has not gone to the Senate from the House. I sense more games. The White House wants the pork cut out, and Pelosi disagrees.

Pelosi appears to have used this opportunity to sneak in all sorts of lawmaking disconnected from the crisis and rushed the bill so that Republicans who might otherwise object were forced to vote for something they had not read. Sound familiar? Perhaps they had to pass it to find out what's in it...

Gohmert noted a few provisions that would actually hurt workers. Under the bill, workers would get "up to 10 weeks of wages at the bill's mandated 2/3’s rate as 'public health emergency leave' instead of receiving workers compensation because workers comp is non-taxable though employer paid leave is taxable. That provision hurts the worker."

So we're fighting over taxes still. One side wants the relief to be untaxed, while the other wants it to be taxable income. I'll leave it up to you to decide which is better for workers on the ground receiving the relief.

"It doesn't go far enough and it doesn't go fast enough," Cotton said. "Most of the measures in this bill are something that the senators will support, I believe. ... But we worry that the bill setting up a new and complicated system relying on businesses giving paid sick leave and then getting a refundable tax credit that won't move quickly enough and could put pressure on those businesses to lay workers off."

So when people want to know why small businesses aren't getting their relief, it's because Pelosi is playing games with the bill.

So, let's see:

My water aerobics class has been cancelled as the Community Center is closed until May.

All KC area school districts are closed at least until April 3. Our district is supposed to be communicating their home support plans tomorrow for continuance of learning, and we plan to procure some extra curriculum books in addition to the packets sent home already with him on Thursday and Friday of this past week. This week is Spring Break.

I just got emailed from work. The CEO finally acted, and all non-essentials (like myself) are now working remotely. I can start logging in from here to work as of tomorrow which I will do.

I am guessing, although we haven't confirmed, that kiddo's martial arts is also cancelled or the class structure has been stretched out, but cancelled is far more likely.

So it appears we will have to organize our work, kiddo's school and practice, and everything else from home for the next couple of weeks at least. We knew this was coming, but it's a relief to finally have it come down for sure.

... oh, and I'm almost 100% sure we're not having kiddo's tournament in early April.

short answer if it's on the Island of Luzon in the Philippines, it's canceled. all events, parades, fiestas, concerts, sports, canceled. all schools, closed. all malls, beaches parks etc, closed. most jobs, canceled. all forms of public transit, shut down. restaurants, closed, except for delivery (and possibly pickup but not clear as conflicting reports on that aspect). religious services, recommended be canceled. going out for a nice stroll, canceled. even many local TV shows are canceled for new episodes. and just for fun an 8pm-5am curfew on top of that.

pretty much all we will be able to do after midnight tonight is get annoyed with those you live with (seriously a month of being cooped up together is going to be interesting, especially for the poor many of which live in homes too small to park a car in, although i'm sure they will socialize at the community toilet). surf the net, watch whatever is on TV, play video games, or read. and of course there is likely to be a big baby boom in about 9 months.
