I'm trying to keep politics out of this, because political preference isn't important. If Buttigieg was a Republican, the little kid would have still asked for advice on how to "come out".

So is Joe Biden going to blame the Russians for this kid not being at his rally too?
Also the denotation that a person is "gay" also implies that that person is a "Homosexual". The idea that a person can like to hang out or prefers to be with another person that is the same birth sex as themselves, is not the same as a person that is "gay".
Right. This kid has studied Pete Buttigieg. Zachary was there at the Town Hall because he identified with Peter's sexual preference.
But asking a person on national TV about working up the courage to "come out". Doesn't the seem very pandering. Your on national TV.

Contact is a good analogy cuz we live im a world plagued with one size fits all LABELS
A kid says he's gay and hints at being afraid at 'coming out' at that tender age and as exemplified in the OP, the focus is on why does a gay kid already know he prefers sex with the same gender, rather than simply that he knows he not straight and so is apprehensive about being 'out' to say, an overly 'straight' (acting) majority

Very well stated! I hope this kid isn't having sex with a grown person. If so, that adult is TOAST.

Again to me, this is not about politics, it's about decent human behaviors.

In 3rd grade kids were already watching prn together and experimenting regardless of underlyimg sexuality; i hear that happens evenmoreso in all-boys (or all-girls) school as well as jail/prisom etc - but that its usually the het persons who are more sexually active than 'gays'; perhaps due to reduced testosterone levels why may play a role in their being gay im the 1st place: but yea aroumd 3rd grade it was mostly the het kids - the ones i see are married guys now - that experimented homoaexually back then (with peers, not grown person s far as i saw)

I'm a male, and at 4 years old I had a crush on a 6 year-old girl next door... She was always playing with this big doll house, and I pretended liking dolls too, just so I could be near her. She would sit there organising the house, with me watching every breath she took and every move she made... LOL
So no, you do not need to have sex to know which sex attracts you.

(But it still wouldn't have given the little boy the courage to tell his friends that he's gay. He needed that pep-talk Pete gave him.)

sad that nowadays instead of kids just having crush on their teacher,
Somehow - maybe thru the convenience of texting, emailing, selfies, etc - kids end up having more than just the crush, in general
Course i blame the teacher as its blatant abuse of their position, though

America will truly be great and noble when nobody - esp KIDS - has to 'come out' or tell their friends what sexuality they are regardless of age; it just shouldn't matter period as to what a person's sex preference is - unless to ward off unwelcome advances.
