@Mods get it out the hoax bin ffs

Maybe don’t post things from a channel so bad even secureteam10 fans make fun of it

Blacklisted “sources” are blacklisted for good reason. If it’s remotely legit, I’m sure you’ll have no problem finding it on a more reputable source and be able to repost it.

At this point it seems like you just want it out of Hoax so you can get your stars and flags, rather than you being more concerned about discussion because it’s still entirely possible to discuss it.

Just without those sweet, sweet S&F.

To be fair, the OP has got a point...

Putting something in a hoax forum before it has been proven, on the premise that the platform is known for hoaxes, is not a very scientific method of 'denying ignorance'.

If anything it allows ignorance to proliferate... and lazyness for that matter too.

On the one hand we are telling each other to use sources, evidence and robust methods of backing up their actions, then on the other hand we move a thread to a hoax forum without any evidence to back up our actions.

Historical evidence of other videos is not a valid argument, each case should be treated individually.

I understand the frustration of the OP. If the video is a hoax then the solid evidence it is a hoax needs to be more than "it's a hoax because they are always posting hoax videos"... that's just a logical fallacy isn't it?

IIRC threads in the Hoax bin don't get indexed by Google when a search is run. So putting them here doesn't help drive traffic to their YouTube channel. If you think it's a real video, then the source is out there, so put in the extra time and go find it. It's that simple.

If we’re gonna argue about the scientific method then I would point out that the burden of proof lies squarely, in multiple facets, on the OP.

It’s an established fact that thirdphase churns out hoax videos. It’s not incumbent on anybody to ignore that fact and give them the benefit of doubt. Overcoming that fact is the responsibility of the person using them as source material. It’s not reasonable to ignore fallacies on one side but expect the other side to abide by the “rules.” As Z pointed out, the hoax bin denies known hoaxers who make their hoaxes for money the ability to get money from ats traffic.

So what comment of mine did I declare it a “hoax,” again? I can only seem to find the one where I said it’s a real video.

Video is not fake nor CGI (unless NASA faked it)

Video source 1: www.ustream.tv...
Video source 2: www.ustream.tv...

Based on NASA reporting, this is a jettisoned JAXA module.

Explanation: blogs.nasa.gov...

Systems:

Japanese Experiment Module (JEM) Inter-orbit Communication System (ICS)-Exposed Facility (EF) Jettison: At 12:50 CT today, robotics ground controllers commanded an SSRMS disposal jettison of the retired JEM ICS-EF, a sub-component of the JEM ICS communications system. The Kibo Inter-Orbit Communication System (ICS) provided an independent intercommunications network between the Kibo module and Tsukuba Space Center (TKSC) of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). The ICS-EF was launched on the STS-127 mission (2J/A) in July of 2009, and was attached to the Exposed Facility Unit (EFU)-7 where it was in service until August of 2017. Kibo science data is now delivered via the ISS Ku-band system which utilizes the expanded coverage of the Tracking and Data Relay Satellite System (TDRSS) network.

Not "unidentified" anymore.

This was not an "hoax" though, but a legitimate case of UFO, not so U anymore, and as often, not of exo origin.

The entire pre-jettison and early [close by] post-jettison video is available, it confirms the object was the obsolete Japanese comm module. Here: youtu.be...

It's a hoax in as much as the Secure Team video said that NASA did not give any statements to explain what the object was, and the Secure Team narrator gave an editorialized opinion that "it's not conventional, by any means" and then goes on to give sensationalistic attributes to the object while playing mysterious music ("diamond shaped", "the way it leaves the vicinity").

However, we know as your link indicates, that NASA that day DID publish a statement that they had jettisoned the ICS-EF module.

Instead of Secure team making it sound like a huge mystery as to what it could have been, maybe a little research would have led them to find out that it could have possibly been the equipment NASA had said they jettisoned earlier in the day.

Either Secure Team knew it was the Japanese ICS and lied that they didn't, or they didn't bother even doing a little research before claiming "NASA hasn't released a statement", but either way, Secure Team intentionally sensationalized a video that turned out to be mundane.
