Ugh....
Facebook is great for keeping in touch with friends and family.
I can see what my brothers are up too and watch my cousins kids grow up.
Keeping informed about deaths and births of friends and family is great too.
The softball league I ran can share updates with loads of people really quickly.
So many positive things.

Buttttttttttt........
Facebook is a pain in the neck too.
I get so damn tired of seeing a post about a missing dog or kid that’s from three damn years ago.
I get tired of stupid political memes that are full of false “truths”..
I’m tired of bad science being spread like peanut butter..

No! The moon is not why your broom is standing up!

Good god people! Stop using Facebook as your encyclopedia!

Yeah yeah, I know, I can delete Facebook..
But doing that eliminates all the good things I listed that are important to me...

Can’t people just think before they share?

Ugh!
Rant over...

Ok, going to share this crap without fact checking. it is more of a theory than proven fact. I want to state this, it is in early stages of analyzing.

www.bmj.com...

I read the virus can be killed on surfaces somewhere at 135 degrees, so hot water from our Hot water heater will kill it.

I do not know whether the above article is correct, but I do know some good stuff is on this site, I have read some articles before that were researched to be right, but what this guy is saying has not been fully tested yet. I suppose the bodies enzymes coupled to the temperature of the body causes the destruction of the virus at around ninety eight degrees most times. So, the body temperature must be higher within the incubation period is what this article is saying, if there is no immediate response to raise temp, the virus gets hold.

I doubt if I can fact check this, it is one of the first times I have seen this kind of information.

I can bring my body temp up above ninety nine by just drinking a couple of glasses of milk over the day. Gee, a milk allergy can be good. I have tested this at least six times and it always holds true for me.

It’s too uncontrollable

Even on this site we just had a known-racist member make a thread using a ‘definition’ from non other than the fricken Urban Dictionary

It was lauded as ‘factual’ by many

On a site like facebook the amount of traffic is astounding. To monitor the traffic alone would take teams of hundreds of thousands of people working 24/7 in all languages in all countries.

Internet use is only set to grow and facebook is still only a TINY amount of that traffic.

I think ‘fake news’ is going to be the norm for quite some time

Here is some more info I will share without going to a fact check site to verify if it is true. I have read many journals on using bormelain to fight diseases. So I won't fact check this article.

www.greenmedinfo.com...

It also deactivates many viruses via this proteinase.

I don't post any medical stuff I know on Facebook because not many people believe anything they hear on Facebook.

I've had many conversations when after someone expresses an opinion I will ask, "Is that an opinion or a fact?" And every time the person will emphatically claim, "It's a fact!"

S&F
Right there with you.
It gets old fast, especially the MsM Fact check sights that are posted every time Trump makes a speech or statement.
Half the "Info" in them is either spun or outright wrong.

I don’t mind the political opinions being posted.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

It was a political meme posted on Facebook stating “facts” about social security that inspired this rant.
Someone blaming the democrats for things that weren’t true.
Another one is how pelosi used social security money to pay for the impeachment.

Just garbage being passed on.

If one has finally arrived at the realization in 2020 that memes may in fact be completely false there is probably not much hope for them in this world.

You are probably right.

I guess it's asking for too much for people to fact check before passing something on.

Access to information on the internet was supposed to make people more informed and I think it's just dumbed people down.

If you legally smoked a cigarette on a domestic flight in the US, you will turn at least 49 in 2020.

Stuff like that?

And its dated! It would help if dates were used like in this example.

Naturally. I made that example.

Also I was one of the last people to legally smoke on a plane on December 29, 1989. The cutoff had passed for commercial flights, but chartered flights in commercial planes lasted until December 31, 1989. So going from Knoxville, TN to Dallas, TX we could smoke but the return trip on January 2, 1990 we could not.

US smoking trivia.
