ATS thoughts and predictions for 2020.

Not thinking so much of politico, but rather natural events and what mother nature might throw at us. We have seen the worst fire season in recent history in Australia, a significant amount of the same early on in California, a few potent but not so devastating earthquakes in
Japan and the Pacific Rim. Now the Coronavirus. The stock market looking fairly good despite Trillions in debt. Calamities in Africa and regional wars. Droughts, Locust, And The Beat Goes On. (Cher)

Do you have any observations you want to share or alarms that need be heard ? All's fair here, but remember the OP title....

Why make predictions?

Wu-Flu will kill us all! Haven't you been paying attention?!

I kid; I kid. No. Honestly, I do.

I think we'll have an early spring in the states and possibly a very hot summer. It's been a couple years. We're due for a scorcher, and the robins are already back.

I will finally graduate from physical therapy and my shoulder will recover almost 100% (it's a SLAP tear; I'll never pitch major league ball again).

The Queen will finally die (doesn't someone always make the prediction? I'll take one for the team this year).

Yellowstone will NOT erupt.

There will be a decent sized EQ somewhere along the West Coast.

Nancy Pelosi will get so senile, she will say something positive about the president.

There will be a plague of locusts.

As Antarctica melts and becomes warmer, we are going to see new things about this strange land, but you're gonna need to be quick to see them, before those strange things are removed from the internet by #GoogleisSkyNet.

2020 is the start of a 3 year period of massive transition. The end result will be a complete totalitarian state with Zero freedoms left. We will be forcefully ''quarantained'' if we show any form of dissidence.

Welcome to the new world.

If Trump loses re-election we might see a civil war.
Coronavirus could be a bio-weapon for population control.
The west coast of U.S.A. might fall into the Pacific.
UFO fleet will suddenly appear in our skies.
The giants will return.

I'm not that keen on predictions.

Politically though, it looks like Trump is set to hand the Taliban the 'W' in Afghanistan. I predict that if the 'peace promise' to reduce violence is signed by 'the chosen one' , the Taliban will be recognized in Afghanistan as a legitimate political party. There will be celebrations and praise given to Osama and the enemy will have won.

I don't know what else we would expect from a President who got up in front of 911 victims on national television to compliment the Bin Ladens on how "tall and handsome" they were.

What would we expect a President with five military deferments to understand about leadership.

I suppose some day in the not so distant future that we will be sending military aid in the form of US tax monies to Afghanistan that go towards rebuilding Taliban interest in the region if Donald Trump gets his way.

So much for 'Remember 911'

That is what I see happening from the information that was presented today.

The Flying Spaghetti Monster will return and the Reptilians will show up to intercede. They kill each other off and we live happily ever after.

The ORNL will make and analyze their room temperature superconductor. And it works! Next year the whole world pitches in for a wild idea: follow the sun power generation.

The fusion reactor in Germany begins the last round of testing. Next year, a demo of break even fusion happens (see above for why that also happens).

Hydrogen production from waste plastic becomes feasible. Then the race is on for a conversion to H2.

A rocket using the fusion breakthrough will be used to allow us to explore the neighborhood.

Seattle wins the Super Bowl.

Johnny tries LDS for the first time and finds talking to God a blast. The violence planned for his educational facility is averted. We never know about it.

Ernie and Bert get married in a pay-per-view pledge drive for PBS that saves NOVA just before JWST blows our mind with a recording of Betelgeuse going nova (see what I did?).

I get off my buttocks and submit my Twin Primes paper to the arXiv (this is the same as last year but I have written it. Pinky swear!)

The mkt. will not fare well in 2020 but but but but but Obama and hilldog will be blamed. It's an established routine currently.

And Hillary still won't be indited for her crimes as promised. Bunch of clowns and actually entertaining if you don't take them seriously.

The China Syndrome (heh) will kill off a few million.

Leftists will continue their onslaught of violence against anyone who doesn't think like them. This will lead to riots that will pale the '68 riots. Socialists/Communists will march and demand a people's revolution against the Constitution and Trump administration.

Global warming alarmists will start to call for a new ice age because they were told to say that.

I think it'll be even better than that. A new ice age will start and Global Warming alarmists will point to The Day After Tomorrow as predictive programming. Greta Thunberg will don a parka and sit on a glacier and rant about how we robbed her of her spring "How. Dare. We!"

My prediction:
North Padre Island, Corpus Christi, Tx will be greatly affected by a hurricane. It has been a long time coming. Just to the north of there Port Aranasas and Rockport were very damaged from the last hurricane. North Padre Island , Corpus has beautiful houses on awesome canals- really cool place. I hope I am wrong.

I hope you are wrong too. I have family in Galveston; actually I have family all over Texas. But the Gulf Coast does get hammered occasionally.

I think as the globe warms and things start to melt worldwide there will be an increase of viruses/illnesses; some of which there will be no cure for. Cold weather keeps viruses in check.

There will be food shortages because as the environment warms, it will lead to more evaporation and, thus, more rain. Food can't grow properly when there is too much water.

Too much water and an extended warming season will lead to more mosquitoes which will only help to spread disease.

There will be many conflicts over diminishing resources worldwide.
