Work: Still no change. No orders, instructions or rumours. Not even from my wider circle of friends, colleagues and people I know on the Forces network. People are talking about it more and I have educated some of my friends by making them aware of what is really happening in China by way of non mainstream news and what has come out of China.

Domestic. Family still think I'm crazy but the wife is listening now. We are prepared as well as we can be.

Opinion: If the situation begins to change I'm sure I will see something at work, some sort of warning signs, but at the moment nothing here in the UK military at my level where I am. For the ultimate red marker event will be if the UK authorities cordon off a civil residential area and evacuate or a combination of both, then you know it's bad.

Boring I know but I really haven't seen anything at work.

Long time ago, husband's company sent out a travel advisory for all of Asia. They ramped that up today adding that no one is to go to China. They only way anyone is approved to travel there is through the express permission of one person inside the company, meaning it's extremely unlikely anyone would get approval, and these rules carry on through the end of February at least.

I've never used the word "idiot" on this forum. Is the propraganda that bad in the States. I would never fly on a plane now. Heck, I'd take my chances now walking from coast to coast before I'd fly on a plane.

It’s that bad. People are calling out the govt for trying to minimize travel to minimize the spread. Idk I guess they just think there’s no risk. I can’t grasp it

Oh of course there is compartmentalization. There always has been. There are damned good reasons for it as well... but a secret quarantine facility being built suddenly... . It would stay secret for about 5 seconds. Especially a 5K bed one.... particularly with needs for medical personnel with specialized skills... as would be needed in such a situation. Especially when it has to be figured into the strategic stockpile.

Ill ass this.. this isnt only the military's show. Its also CDC.. and they work with the dept of transportation and many more agencies.

Those are the type of updates I'm here for.
