Here we go... first case in London. She came in at Heathrow and that usually means taking transport from Heathrow, whether thats a taxi or the underground, it's spread already. This could spiral out of control now but lets hope not.

The patient is said to be a Chinese national who was diagnosed this afternoon. It is the first time a person has been confirmed to have the disease in London

A woman has become the first person to be diagnosed with coronavirus in London, according to reports. The patient, who is understood to have developed symptoms after arriving at Heathrow Airport from China, is being treated at a hospital in the capital. A source told The Sun that a patient had been diagnosed with the deadly disease - which has killed more than 1,000 and infected thousands more around the world. Chief medical officer Professor Chris Whitty has confirmed the ninth case of coronavirus in the UK, but not revealed where the patient was diagnosed. He said: "One further patient in England has tested positive for novel coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of cases in the UK to nine. "This virus was passed on in China and the patient has now been transferred to a specialist NHS centre at Guy's and St Thomas' in London."

Someone is going to haul it here to the U.P. of Michigan. For some strange reason people feel they should bring new and exciting things here so our people can try them out.

Good old fear mongering in full effect, meanwhile a British guy who contracted the virus and spread it to others is now been discharged from hospital and is back at home.

I don't understand what's 'novel' about it.

Novelty is usually a good thing?...

It's getting ridiculous I was in the supermarket yesterday in line and this woman was hacking up a lung behind me , I cut in line and said I'm just going to wait up here for my turn . All I could picture was a scene from a movie like Outbreak, Was kinda surreal .

I was never afraid of the old chicken flu and swine flu but I'm older now and am slightly worried that I may be less resilient to the latest outbreak.

Time will tell but it's definitely going to take a lot more people down before we can nip it in the bud.

Flu Season: What to Know in 2020

www.webmd.com...

The agency estimates there have been at least 22 million flu illnesses, 210,000 hospitalizations and 12,000 deaths from flu so far this season. That includes 78 children who have died from flu.

The flu is a contagious disease, and it can cause mild to severe symptoms along with life-threatening complications, even in young, healthy children and adults. Since 2010, the flu has killed from 12,000 to 79,000 people annually in the U.S. and affected about 9.3 million to 49 million annually.

The doom porn is getting old.

There’s been a magnitude difference in hospitalization from the flu vs Coronavirus infections alone?

When it's aerosol and has become something, we will wake you, but it'll be your turn to take out the garbage.

That would imply that China cares.

The CCP is just a human version of The Borg, except with more corruption and nepotism.

The magnitude difference is you can get a flu shot (vaccine) in a pharmacy. No coronavirus vaccine.

Anyway, your numbers are not comparable until Coronavirus gets spread all over the world like the flu. That didn't happen yet. So you need to wait if you want to compare both.
