The road I live on, which is just a side road, barely two-lane, has a good many potholes, but the road crews come through and regularly patch it. The problem isn't the road... the problem is that it will flood after a few days of heavy rain. It would take some seriously major drainage work to fix that; the creek that floods is fed by a spring naturally connected to the runoff from the side of one of the larger mountains in the area. People have just learned to live with the fact that the water gets out from time to time. There is a way around it, maybe just an extra two miles.

But even with that, compared to the four-lane I drove across in Detroit, this little side road looks like a glassy-smooth Interstate!

Did you read some of the comments left on that page? Now there are some REALLY scary people posting there who don't seem to have any touch with reality. They're still convinced President Trump colluded with the Russians for the 2016 election. And lots of other things they said that was just.... scary. They sounded like immature babies, with psychopathic tendencies. I was really scared to see that such people really exist. What are those people going to do when President Trump wins a second term?

Sad because our successes mean their defeat. Especially now that the people know they want America to fall. Now tell me TDS is not real. The term may have started as a joke, but it's completely real and a bigger concern for us, IMO, than the coronavirus ever will be.

The most glaring example: in the tweet, the White House pointed out what Pelosi had "ripped up," referring to the people Trump had highlighted in his speech. One of those comments took the exact same people and claimed they were exploited for political purposes. OK, maybe they were. But they were there voluntarily; no one forced them to come and be recognized. They were also, each and every one, helped, some in immeasurable ways. Donald Trump changed lives last night: a little girl trapped in a failing school system that was squashing her dreams of a better life received a scholarship that opened up a lifetime of education to her. A grieving brother received comfort. A young man with dreams of space received confidence and an old man who had lived his dreams and become a part of our history received thanks. A man who may well be facing death itself received an honor for a lifetime of work. A mother and her children saw her husband, their father, return to them.

And these people who left those comments hate the man who did all that, for doing it. They would rather see people grieve alone, children's dreams squashed, than to just admit maybe the guy they hate so much did something good for once.

It's not about political disagreement... it is about pure, unbridled, all-encompassing hatred. There need be no cause for the hatred to exist, because it is not based in anything real. That's the kind of hatred that burns one from the inside and destroys lives, just as surely as drug addiction or cancer itself. They are slowly killing themselves with hatred, and in the process trying to take as many others with them as possible. The misery must be intolerable. Do not hate them back; pity them... but also keep your distance lest you become one of those they destroy in their haste to destroy themselves.
