Wife’s family is a ok so far. Chinese generally can tolerate a lot of hardship.

There’s videos on Twitter which I linked in the other thread showing them entertaining themselves in funny ways. Making short comedy videos and uploading to social media is very popular. But that won’t last long is the fear within the govt there.

Food and supplies are the obvious concern. They are allowed out every other or every 3rd day to buy food and necessities. Some stores have been ordered to remain open to accommodate this and they have armed police at each one. Yes there are armed police and military patrolling streets. There are videos on Twitter.

Half of my wife’s family, the side I like most, came from revolutionary movement who fought the Communist army in the Civil War. Further back they can trace their family name to the famous 3 Kingdoms period. I had no idea of this last part until her uncle told me 3 years after I married her!

Anyway basically when stuff goes down her family absolutely doesn’t trust CCP. They were ready within 2-3 days to go for at least one month without needing to buy food. Most of them anyway, especially family in South and West. Her family in North and central China were slower so my wife pushed them.

1 part of her family is in the quarantine zone but I prefer not to say where. As far as we can tell none are infected and they are ok. We don’t dare communicate with them directly.

Just traveled to Port Arthur Texas for work. Crazy part: I left Wenatchee WA Airport (14th of Feb.) to Seattle Airport to Indianapolis Airport then drove to Indiana where I stayed for 2 weeks (visited Purdue) before driving again to Beaumont Texas.. Some of those areas may seem familiar to those of you following this case.

So on to why I'm posting then. I've been in Beaumont since last Wednesday and this train has been keeping me up all night. It's right across the street because I'm across the street from the Port in Port Arthur. So I went out to have a look and found a massive amount of military vehicles in a lot across from my place. Not just a static lot though. No, what I'm seeing is a non stop flow of commercial trucks driving military trucks into this lot and these trucks are then loaded onto said train. Over and over. My wife keeps reassuring me this is all normal and I believe it is but with all the news.. paranoia is starting to set in. It's bad enough I've been in a large computer training room with hundreds people coughing.. I'm sure they move assets like this all the time right?

I post often in the other thread as I’m used to having awareness for these things after I lived there. And of course family and friends.

The US DOD and CDC folks know exactly how serious this particular strain of virus is...because it was weaponized likely years ago. No cure was known then, and no cure is known now. It was never intended to be a first-strike weapon, but rather a 'clean-up' weapon, following a first strike. It was intended to the be the ultimate weapon to decimate one's opponent, because pandemic disease would almost certainly follow some sort of an armageddon-esque conflict anyway (i.e. nukes, etc.). Then, the Chinese got a hold of the virus and started experimenting with it at their bio-weapons facilities in Wuhan. It got away from them and escaped their BL-4 containment facilities...by accident.

When this first started happening I said it will get to the US and when it does it will be turned into a disaster of epic proportions.

Even though the death rate is supposedly low, there's something very sinister about this virus. Either it's origins, or how it's been spread thus far.

Either way, once it's loose here - we're screwed.

I have video of the train moving what appears to be military semi trucks. Just as many as you can count.. but I'm new and linking a video isn't the easiest thing on here. That sign blinks between that message and an arrow to direct the comercial trucks. Have that video too. The sign is new tonight I guess some of the drivers couldn't find the correct drop off but should indicate to readers the amount of deliveries.

When it's light out I'll walk over a take a few more pictures but I get the feeling if I'm seen I'll be asked about my 'curiosity'.

Edit: what's more I'm in a very depressed and 'dead' part of this small industrial community. I'm willing to wager if I hadn't seen this not many would.

Something caught my eye in the first picture. When you zoom in on it there are two humvee's The first one has a grey trailer, is that a satellite dish or a sonic weapon we've heard about then there is a humvee pick up with the same set up in it's bed. Or am I just seeing things? LOL

Considering the UK is now searching for almost 500 people who flew in from Wuhan I guess this is the prudent thing to do.

It also makes me think this bug is way worse then we are being told. I keep waiting for a surge of new cases in the US.

Having read that this virus can live in the air for hours and days on surfaces one would have to assume that these planes from China are more like giant incubation sources.

The next month is going to be interesting.

It’s also overseas deployment rotation time, it’s tough to judge what those are intended for at the moment.

We haven’t heard anything and we would be one of the first to hear. I train medical staff and oversee triage for a battalion line unit, role 1. We would be one of the first to hear if they needed us in the short term because we set up rapid field hospitals.

It looks like an area support group unit with a ground evac medical unit attached. These would also be the ones to supplement civilian systems. The fact that those ambulances are “flying crosses” means they are loaded for medical care.

Is this the fault of the chinese?

Yes, I had the same rationale, but the current flu we have had is not as contagious as this virus. If it gets in the population it may be MUCH worse. The more infectious, the more potential deaths.

Wrong post or not , sounds like the truth.
Just like the swine flu , avian flu and all the other assorted flus from China over the years.

I realize this is a conspiracy site, which is why I joined to begin with. And I also know that this is a serious health concern, but the level of paranoia seems to be ramping up and it seems to me it's unwarranted. Well, paranoia in general is unwarranted but I digress...

If I'm wrong I will freely admit it but it looks like China screwed up initially and now they're taking extreme measures to stop this from spreading more than it has. Fine. But here? We know how to deal with things like this and declaring martial law and city-wide quarantines will just enrage the population, cause extreme panic and violence will erupt. Putting people in quarantine on an airbase that were in China is fine, that's a respectable and smart move. Supplying other potential sites is fine, that's also smart. But to start throwing out rumors and speculation of hidden agendas and dastardly deeds by the government is just silly. Before anyone jumps on me, I do not trust our government. I do, however, know that they are all on high alert from all of the crap they've put us through over the last three years and we will not tolerate another fiasco, especially one that has the potential to screw a lot of people's finances and jobs and families and pets and so on without absolute necessity.

So to our government (who ARE watching social media forums like this whether you believe it or not) tread lightly folks, don't do anything stupid.
