Cant believe i agree with user of op. That NEVER happens. If we ever meet we will remember to talk heath care instead of politics.
I had to go to the ER on new years a frw years back since al clinics and UCs were closed. I knew it woud cost hundreds but i was getting weak on day four with....yikes....the big D...and i mean the very widespread big D that killled millions in the past but is only serious in rare occasions in the developed nations. Weve all had it a hundred times and been juzt fine. I wasnt getting better though and those over the counter opiates you take to stop it....whats it called...amodium HD or something....they stopped helping. I was in and out in 25 min. Went to triage to a sorting bed but just sat in the chair and they gave me a bag of saline and it cured me instantly. It had dehydrated me and i just didnt feel thirsty so i didbt know. Fast forward to the bill in the mail. Lists one paper gown, one saline bag, one intraveinous catheter, one IV needle, and the total?
Eleven THOUSAND dollars. FOR COMING DOWN WITH DIARAMA (or something like that). Insurance got half and i was out 5500 bucks for a bag of salt water and a few cents of steel. Now i know better. Theres no rationale tho othet than highway robbery for those prices.
