Isn’t this the same place that thinks it’s ok to kill people to acquire their farm land?

Yes. It is.
And the belief that the sins of the father should be visited upon the son is openly supported by the very same people who “claim” to defend the rights of others.

Cut the aid. ALL of it.

So, maybe we should cut all American aid to South Africa till these people learn to shut up. The people there will revolt against these jerks trying to disrupt the peace in their country. If they ask us nicely, we will target and destroy these people that are trying to force their people into submission.

Your country has no right to anything in their country.

That is what being a sovereign country means.

Most of the money for humanitarian aid goes into the pockets of people providing the medicines and food to the people. Teaching these people how to more successfully provide for themselves is much better and it actually lowers their dependance on the USA. I know our government wants these people dependent on us to survive, but it doesn't have to be that way. Africa has water under the ground, we could drill many wells to help them instead of supplying them with bottled water, which I see in many of the ads they have out there of help being given to these people.

Military action against people of differing views to your country, in another country, is an act of war.

Yeah, we should not be interfering, we should also not be giving them one stich of aid. Right now, the Brits seem to control a lot of that country, our presence there is to assist the Brits be secure. The Brits do not belong there either. If these people need food, we should supply them with seeds and maybe drill them some wells, not hand them food that makes suppliers rich. Educate the people to take care of themselves. Right now, the aid actually benefits the government more than it benefits the people of that country.

I thoroughly agree that the humanitarian aid should be distributed in a way that fairly gets it to those in need, rather than any group that is trying to use it as a tool for control. I don't however, think that such aid should be stopped.

I do think that a military presence is NOT called for. American troops should defend it's own borders, not its far-flung money making interests.

Africa has water under the ground, we could drill many wells to help them instead of supplying them with bottled water, which I see in many of the ads they have out there that are trying to get donations for helping the people in Africa. I watched a video on PBS and the woman said that helping these people get started is way better than us sending them a bunch of highly processed foods. She said that they drill wells for the people but money for that is scarce and it would be nice if we could help them help themselves. Also a few of the wells they did drill, were poisoned by some of the bad people there, causing a lot of problems. The terrorist groups do not want the people to be independent either, they want them to fear them.

Our presence is needed there to wipe out the bad groups of people that are making their people's lifes miserable. I think it should be an international venture though, not just Americans. Not all the people ruling the African countries are bad, but there are some and there are many groups that want to take over these countries and make the people bow down to them. We cannot allow that to happen. To do so would be inhumane.

One issue (not mentioned by the well drillers) is the levels of arsenic and other toxic minerals in the ground water. It is a problem around the world. If the entire area lives purely on groundwater, sickness from toxins also rises.

Clearly there needs to be some sort of filtering (perhaps bulk solar distillation in warmer climates) of the potable water to allow for safer water. There also needs to be education to explain the difference between 'raw' groundwater and safe drinking water.

We should definitely be cutting foreign aid everywhere, but where would Democrat’s get their campaign funds?

Oh by the way, the protestors chanting this slogan demand a response to the memorandum they handed into the US embassy last Thursday within 7 working days.
twitter.com...

Ooh, I can't wait to see what response they are going to get.

I'm so excited, I'm not going to sleep a wink till then!

Come on you guys...I have been told I'm ignorant so many times now over the past days because I have an opinion about a topic I know little about (U.S. politics) but you are not going to convince me that you guys believe that foreign aid only benefits the country that receives it.

Peace

They actually “called on the United States government to respect human rights” in that memorandum.

The ANC. Demanding ‘respect for human rights’.

While that hypocritical demand is setting in......they defended Iran in the very same sentence.

I suppose you could defend everything until now by freedom of speech and opinion in SA (which could be a sign of "robust democracy" if it was equally applied).
But we don't have unlimited freedom of speech in SA, or any such constitutional amendment.
That's what US citizens should understand.
You can't do the same idiotic sloganeering if it's not in line with the ruling, leftist establishment.

I mean imagine somebody chanting, or even just posting "death to" to any other group in SA except for whites and Americans. And yeah, that would be wrong too, but as it stands, only a certain paradigm may do it against certain people, with tacit approval and prospective violent enforcement (or bullying). Just like Rwanda before the genocide.

But, as the second vlogger says on my previous page - if one window of that US embassy is broken, or one American is raped, murdered or burned alive in the streets (although a whole US tour group where robbed in Khayelitsha recently, but I doubt that was political): Ramaphosa and Malema, I don't want to be in your shoes.

No sirs, not for all the riches in the world.

I just checked and it appears that there are areas of Africa, just as there are here, that have elevated arsenic levels. But they could still use those wells to water their fields. They also could test the wells. There is arsenic around here, it is present in small amounts in all wells, but also in our water supply to the cities here. Arsenic can be removed from the body with onions or garlic, so incorporating those into the diet help. But if the people have not evolved with the sulfur food chemistries in the allum family, it might cause some problems.

Have you ever drank a bottle of water that has sat in the hot for a while, it tastes like plastic. It is definitely not good to be drinking bottled water either.

Now that the daily unpleasantries are out of the way, I sometimes wonder whether South Africa could ever be the start of World War Three?

I mean we sure have enough, diverse and oppositional global interests and ideological passions in one place.

A note on terminology: I do realize that America currently makes up 35 countries in the Western hemisphere.
en.wikipedia.org...

However, I have cited the slogans by SACP and affiliates as given, and thus have used "America" and the US interchangeably (a closer reader might note, at times to draw attention to the conflicting meanings).

Why these leftist groups chose "Americans" instead of the "United States", which they surely mean, is up to them to explain.

It clearly means the same thing here, although it's probably their get out of jail free card on a technicality.

They could say "American" means somebody with a certain ideology, or power position, not everyone who's a US citizen. (In the Bush years we called that "Amerika", to rub in Nazi connections, and Rammstein had that radical video.)

Yeah, I can already see it, the crappy leftist justifications, playing with these terms.

I'm actually surprised, or shocked that so far nobody significant in the leftist press has tried to make any distinction: "Oh by 'Americans' we just mean an ideology, and not every US citizen".

Well, I guess not even the leftist academies or universities in SA have any more real standards.

Of course the likelihood is also that they said exactly what they meant, and they never imagined any distinction between "America" and the US government.

Which would then be also rather simple-minded for people claiming to speak for Cubans and Venezuelans, all of whom are Americans in a geographical sense.

But hey, let's not expect too much logic, or whether such a distinction was made in a wider speech, I don't know.

If anyone finds any evidence that the SACP crowd has made any distinction on what "America" means since last Thursday (and obviously before tonight and my drawing attention to it), I will apologize for this post.

That makes the crops poisoned, too.

Some arsenides incorporate into the leaves, stems flowers and fruits of some plants. Some arsenides also poison and inhibit plant growths and yields. Knowing what to do, in what case, itself is an issue in communities where there are subsistence farmers.

In any case, it makes sense to not water or wash plant products in toxin affected or high mineral salt water.

There are bulk filtering methods, some sustainable, which allow the purity of water to be assured and these things should be part of a systematic approach to water.

While I agree that some plastics, especially those softened with pthalates, should not be used for drinking water storage, there are some with high chemical and physical stability, such as Polyethylene terephthalate (PET).

But why "One bullet, one American"?

It's just a figure of speech, you know us socialists and frosty poetry ... that doesn't rhyme (much too bourgeois and too much effort).

Err, nope, you're not getting away with that one yet.

And besides, if they don't get the reply they deem satisfactory, they will embark on further action.

I don't have a crystal ball, but little doubt about that.

Booley led the crowd in chanting “Allahu Akbar” as embassy employees watched from a distance.

www.iol.co.za...

Crikey, they don't make diplomatic staff like they used to.

You should have seen the Raj!
"What's this I hear of a ruckus, or some bloody nonsense?"
And they all run away.

Nowadays, to paraphrase Bette Midler: "The staff is watching you ... from a distance".

Creepy, yet diligent.

Arsenic is only taken into certain plants. Mostly stuff like Rice, asparagus, ferns, and to a smaller extent in some sulfur foods like broccoli and cabbage. But the broccoli and cabbage has some protective chemistry, while asparagus ferns, and rice don't. Apple seeds will concentrate arsenic, but we usually do not eat the seeds, so do some of the other fruits in their seeds.

I did quite a bit of research on arsenic being taken up by plants. and where it accumulates in the plants.

You can remove arsenic from the soil by planting ferns, then cut the ferns and haul them away and it pulls the arsenic out of the soil but relocates it to where you put the ferns.

Only a few types of plants grow around gold, the field it generates kills most plants but lets a couple types grow. I learned to identify the plants, but do not remember their names. That information made many people prestigious and rich through the centuries. With a little research I even found out how it actually works, seems that some physicists know about this too.

When true ideology strikes.

Tell me you were just drunk last night and never meant it

Er, I was drunk last night but sill actually meant it.

Oh flip I'm breaking up with you.

I mean ideologically, maybe we could still have benefits - nope, no more benefits.

If globalism were a relationship.

I recall a time when we were escorting aid, keeping the peace, and when fired upon we were told we could not return fire. God forbid we make it look like a bloodbath by taking out these morons pointing rocket launchers at you. Id hire some loon like General BUtt Naked and have him do some dirty work and plow the field.. it would make keepin the peace.. peaceful.

THose days are over. I would "retool" aid and let the UN get beaten with debris and shot at. Id also tell every land owner, black or white.. defend your property and your life by any means necessary.

Thanks for that.

Although there is a lot of traditional knowledge that is very valuable, there are also bogus and unverified charlatans as well.

- same as there is on the official medicine side.
