- Public gatherings banned
- Public venues closed
- Areas (streets or towns) with coronavirus cases must be quarantined immediately
- Each city will have at least 1 central area for quarantine
- Transportation hubs will set up quarantine stations

I can't afford masks,so.im thinking of taking a risk and not paying rent this week to buy a heap of them,and a heap of food,canned and dried. We live 2km from the Tasman sea,so I can suppliment stocks with fish and shellfish,lots of live stock around if it gets really bad and I need to barter. I'm also thinking of keeping my kids out of school until I see how our govt handles this situation.

P3/P-100 mask, eye protection, hand sanitizer . N95 is worthless so i hear.

I think of the peds side we have at most 10 beds that can be used for this. Assuming and thats a big assumption that there are 20 per hospital we are looking at 180 in in the Bay Area if none are being used.

No its not odd to be honest. Part of our disaster / Pandemic/ NBC training involves literally setting up something similar outside of the hospital.

The idea and goal is to

Triage patients outside before they get inside so that you can put masks on them etc.
Triage patients who show up at these events with every fake symptom they can manage
Set up care areas as most hospitals lack surge capacity to deal with large numbers in a mass causality event

For Example: In Northern California there is at most 200 pediatric Intensive care unit beds available. The use rate hovers between 80-85 percent (that just with routine stuff that kids get sick, injured etc) that means at any given time there is at most 40 bed available. That is beds not staff who may or may not elect to come in to help. Assume we have the staff, a pandemic etc would easily overwhelm the number of free beds. Nor is there an ability short of using a C-17 to move patients to other unaffected areas assuming those states even allow it.

The hospital may not have enough isolation rooms to deal with the influx

Lastly in this type of incident, the triage officer (I'm trained to do it if needed) makes life and death decisions on who gets care and who does not. At this stage its trying to save the greatest number of people not all of the people.

Yes it may be precipitous and they are 100% lying about the numbers, but building the tent city is a prudent move in this situation. You do it early while you have the manpower

Significant development. Watching this on agenda free T.V. right now. 600 miles from Wuhan. It really makes you ponder how or why this hasn't been happening all over. Or we're being lied to..

The incubation rate is a big problem when scanning people landing from flights. This thing is already world wide I think. I guarantee in the next few days NZ will have cases,we have a large Chinese population.

Those are fine providing you are keeping those who are not infected from getting it from you. Level 4 bio suits would be ok as long as you have a decontamination area before removal and training as to how to not to actually give it to yourself when removing.
