I now think back on the testimony by Muller regarding a report he had written after 2 years of investigation and it was a mess. But it was real; he stammered and sputtered like a normal human being trying to remember something that happened in the past. It dashed the hopes of Democrats chomping at the bit to impeach Trump.

And than a few months later Trump is caught up in a scandal involving so many professional testimony givers? Supper humans who can recant the past as if reading it from a script?

This post is 2 days late and someone may have already covered this but the prosecution has 24 uncontested hours over 3 days to make their case without interruption. After that, Trump's team will have 24 uncontested hours over 3 days to make their case of rebuttal of the accusations. After that comes 16 hours of interactive question and rebuttal.

I have a brother.
He is 1 1/2 year older than me. and we have had many contentious incidents over the years and he finds me guilty of every contrived offence I have committed against him from birth to now which is 69 years now. He has hated my guts since the day I was brought home from the hospital and lay me on the living room couch where he waddled over, saw me for the first time and immediately smacked me across the face. The entire family knows this story. Even today he expects me to apologize for even the childish crap during our childhood. What he doesn't realize is all of the incidents he remembers as being my fault occurred because of his own actions leading up to whatever he finds me guilty of.
Like the time he got his ass arrested. He brooded all afternoon and got drunk in the process over something I did earlier in the day and that night, he drove his drunk ass down to my house where he parked across the road, propped his drunk ass up against my front fence and cursed me for half an hour before I finally got fed up with his crud and called the sheriff on him. He knew I had called the cops but he just stood there sobbing about how badly I had mistreated him through the years.
In a sense Shiff and company are my brother. My brother will never admit he is wrong and see his mistakes. Even with the nation laughing at them they can't see why people will have refused to convict Trump. Ten years from now they will still be trying to figure this out. Look at Hillary, she is still in denial. This is what insanity does to people.

Their proof doesn't exist.

You have to understand that this is all about persuading and enraging the public. Once you understand that, you can see through the smoke and mirrors. You will start to see and break down what they say into chunks that show which demographic they are trying to persuade. To persuade the most people, they need to hit every demographic.

For example, they had to make it a point that a woman ambassador (Yovanovich) was fired by Trump to appeal to the emotions of women in business, feminists, etc.. Then they had to bring in a war veteran and immigrant from Ukraine (Vindman) to appeal to the patriots, and the bleeding hearts.

Even those that simply have a career...

Everything they do is designed for a specific audience. It really is a war over minds.

I am looking forward to the Defense side to speak. So far the Managers all seem to have tried to put a puzzle together by cutting and splicing to make pieces fit where they believe they should and it is not a pretty picture!

Hoping the Defense will shred it apart and glue the fragments back onto the puzzle snips and show America the reality of how destructive a biased agenda was.

I have a very simple question: How much is this process costing us taxpayers? Is there no limit on the frivolous spending? No cap on the outflow? All this money is being wasted when it could be going to so many useful and necessary funding projects. Infrastructure? Pay for our First Responders, teachers, school security, etc.? I wish someone would calculate the cost in dollars and cents and not just in how much idiocy is being promulgated.

LOL! It turns out Nadler managed to offend Susan Collins (R-ME) as well:

‘Stunned’ Sen. Collins objected to Nadler’s impeachment accusation in note to Roberts

Collins told Politico she was “stunned” by Nadler’s comments, and confirmed to the outlet that she wrote a note that made its way to Roberts after a tense back and forth between Nadler and White House Chief Counsel Pat Cipollone.

“It reminded me that if we were in a normal debate in the Senate, that the rule would be invoked to strike the words of the senator for impugning another senator,” she told Politico. “So, I did write a note raising the issue of whether there’d been a violation of the rules.”

Collins said she gave the note to the secretary for the majority, Laura Dove, and “shortly thereafter, the chief justice did admonish both sides. And I was glad that he did."

Between Jerry pissing off all the potential swing votes, and Adam putting everyone to sleep -- Republicans actually passed out fidget spinners as a way to fight off boredom -- this seems to be an event for the history books. But not in the way Democrats were hoping.

And Trump's turn is only just now starting. Giuliani is promising to drop evidence of Biden taking bribes.

Whose worse ? Senator Schumer or Congressman Schiff ?

Close call .................. here's Schiff in an epic act

Video: Schiff Has Teary-Eyed Meltdown in Thursday Closing Statement, Trashes Giuliani, Says Trump Must Be Removed Because He Might Work With Russia and China to Win Re-Election

Lead House Manager Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) made a ‘pitch for the angels’ in his Thursday night closing statement at the Senate impeachment trial of President Trump, working himself into an Oscar worthy teary-eyed meltdown as he warned senators what Trump might do to win re-election if he was not removed from office even if they decide he is guilty. Schiff repeatedly said Trump is “dangerous”.

Schiff said Trump should be removed because he chose to work with former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, a former top federal prosecutor and crime fighting mayor, for help on Ukraine corruption rather than the FBI or the intelligence agencies (hmm….work with the same agencies that tried to frame Trump in the Russia collusion hoax or work with someone you trust, tough choice.) Schiff said that makes Trump “dangerous”.

Schiff warned of Russia and China committing acts to help Trump win the 2020 election, with his blessing, even though Trump was cleared of the phony Russia collusion hoax in the 2016 election. Schiff said Trump might reward China for helping him by giving them a favorable trade deal. It was an incredible trashing of the President and Giuliani on the Senate floor by Schiff.

For good measure, Schiff invoked Lt. Col. Vindman and the old country.

From Rudy Giuliani. In addition to being NYC mayor, this has been his specialty.

Starting tomorrow we will begin cracking through the Swamp media’s cover-up of TOP level Democrats selling their public office, resulting in multi-millions, in Ukraine and the conspired attempt with foreign officials to “destroy” the Trump candidacy.

Hi there, and welcome to ATS with your first post, I am honored that it was on my thread.

That is a great question... I am sure this has cost the taxpayer a lot of money. Thinking about how many hours of the Congress, the cost of video editing, writing of documents, time in the Courts, the IG report, the FISA investigations, the Mueller report, the time on the floor hearing all of the testimony... That is all not just at a cost to the taxpayer, it is also all of the opportunities lost to advance the Country's goals and progress.

I'm sure someone will go through an accounting exercise to get an estimate of how much this entire thing has cost us, and that it will be a very eye-opening experience.

Schiff repeated himself about 15 times in just that one video! Two-time, two-face, too-dramatic Schiff...

What a drama queen. I understand the importance and necessary conviction to move people, but it appears so fake and contrived, and I think Senators and the public can see right through it. The "feelsy" folks out there that are highly emotionally driven will catch feelings from his delivery, but the substance and content is flimsy and too easy to see that the agenda isn't to show evidence of guilt, but to pull on people's heart strings and emotions. That only works for a small margin of people, the rest of us are paying attention to the contents.

We know politicians lie about things... but what Adam Schiff has done is show what the most egregious and "worst case scenario" of that looks like, and how an elected official can be so far removed from reality with such an obvious hidden agenda. I hope he gets escorted out, but if not, at the very least, voted out or faces his own impeachment from Congress. He doesn't deserve to be a face of representation for the public.

I keep hearing reference to polls by the media about over 60% of the public wanting to hear from witnesses and see documents...

And the Democrats keep beating on that as though they believe the public is on their side.

I think they are confused. The numbers are skewed by the question in the poll, because there are a LOT of people that want to see the Bidens put on the stand as witnesses, and see documents from Trump's defense team. It's not just in support of the Democrat argument, it is because a lot of people in the public (at least 50%) want to see the dirt on everyone else, not just Trump.

This is an example of how a poll is being used as a tool by the House to manipulate the public into believing a very specific narrative.

Everyone is just in a hurry to get Democrats off the Senate Floor. Their high-point in the first 6 hours today was Nadler calling President Trump a "dictator".

It's not even close IMO. Schiff is the worst most repugnant politician with the possible exception of Hillary I have ever witnessed in my life.

Schumer is just your typical politician. Schiff is actually evil.

The real eye opener will be whether it cost more than the taxpayer money Trump spends on personal golfing.

Currently I think the golfing tab is around 10x higher? Maybe? It was ~100 million last summer and the impeachment trial is supposed to have cost ~3 million late december from a quick googling. So they have a few dollars to spend yet.

Edit: another quick googling showed the Clinton impeachment ran at ~80 million.

To be fair, they already heard the whole house spew repeated as much as everyone else. Nothing groundbreaking and new newsy. I am sure once the Defense begins tomorrow, they will be more active now that they have been given their talking points by the House in attempt to counter evidence and facts produced.

Edit add: I have found with my Democrat friends elsewhere when hypocrisy of statements were broached, their response was that is a matter to discuss at a later time. Right now, it doesn't matter, the focus should be only on Trump and not anyone else. Lmao.

They know.
