Naming a ship after Miller, I have no problem with that. An aircraft carrier? I do have a problem with that. If you want to name an aircraft carrier after a Black person, may I suggest the USS Jesse L. Brown.

I just think that a cruiser or destroyer would be more fitting for Miller considering that he is known for his actions on a battleship.

I can see your point.

I neither agree, nor disagree. Either man is certainly deserving of the honor. More so than some who've had the honor bestowed.

I think the big difference is Miller was the first to be awarded the Navy Cross, arguably he could have been give the Medal of Honor.
