#Iraq: Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi has told the U.S. secretary of state to send a delegation to Iraq tasked with formulating the mechanism for the withdrawal of U.S troops from Iraq - AP

Washington Post

BEIRUT — In a phone call with U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi asked the United States send a delegation to Iraq to set up a mechanism for U.S. troop withdrawal from the country, a statement from the prime minister's office said Friday.

The request followed a vote by the Iraqi parliament to expel thousands of U.S. troops, a direct consequence of a U.S. drone attackthat killed senior Iranian commander Qasem Soleimani and nine companionsin Baghdad a week ago.

Yes, its about time. Time to leave!
We should never have gone in and Bush Jnr and Cheney need to be brought up on war crimes charges.

Trump, send them all home. Packup... flick off this $$ sucking TICK from the US Economy.

Iraq can start governing for themselves, setup a coalition of middle eastern states to ensure Iran doesnt take over and get... the FK out!

That was done back in 2015, but they aren't accomplishing squat. Maybe having the U.S. leave Iraq will force them to step up.

The heads of Arab League countries meeting in Egypt have agreed to create a joint Arab military force.

www.bbc.com...

Personally, I think some of these Islamic countries want the U.S. to stay just so they can constantly push blame on the U.S. for everything they would be doing to each other anyway.

Yes, I wrote to Trump and said we should withdraw from the region entirely, except for Israel.

The ME has been killing it's own citizens for thousands of years over religion. Nothing we do can stop it. We can stop them from doing it to us, but we can't stop them from killing themselves. Russia learned that pulled out after 15 years of trying.

We need to withdraw and leave it to the UN to handle the genocidal tendencies of the ME. That is what the UN troops are for. The US needs to stop "rescuing" the world, we are hated for it, much hated, and since the world hates us for it, we should stop and let them handle it without us.

With today's technology we can retaliate quickly and with deadly targeted force anywhere in the world. We don't need to be "on the ground" to make sure that those who hurt the US are made to severely regret it.

With good spying and good intel, we can strike back if US citizens are attacked without being in the region.

We need to be in Isreal, because the rest of the world hates them with a passion as much as it hates the US. They need protection, as we saw in WWII. Sadly, many of our congresspeople even hate Israel, that is how much Israel is in need of help. A very tiny country whose people are hated around the world because of their religion, even in the US, even by Democratic Congresspeople.

I told President Trump we should withdraw from the region.

Let the ME kill it's own people as it had for thousands of years, we will never stop it.

Then tell the ME:
you kill US citizens -
we will retaliate swiftly and with deadly force
you attack US soil -
your entire country will regret it
Trump is the first President in 14 years that the ME will believe that he will do it, and he will.
THEN follow through with this promise as swiftly and with as much deadly force as the situation calls for.

As an aside, we also need to leave Europe for the most part, we need to stop occupying Europe post WWII
Except keep
Kaiserslatuern as a storage facility for on the ground needs (we can get troops there within 48 hours if needed)
Ramstein for the hospital and air base
Mindenhall for the airbase (England)
One major naval base in Italy
Every other base in Europe needs to be shut down and we need to go and let the European nations take care of themselves
WWII is over, they are recovered, they don't need us anymore

But Iran bombing their country is fine??? Seems like the Iranian military has full control over Iraq’s politicians at the moment

Time for a CIA backed coup in Iraq

From May of last year - Obviously Iraq has become the militant territory of Iran
Just like a long fuse burning

Iran Is Secretly Moving Missiles Into Iraq, U.S. Officials Say

......Officials said Iran was using Iraqi Shiite militias, many of which it has long supplied and controlled, to move and hide the missiles. The Iranian-backed militias have effectively taken control of a number roads, bridges and transportation infrastructure in Iraq, easing Tehran’s ability to sneak the missiles into the country, officials said.

“People are not paying enough attention to the fact that ballistic missiles in the last year have been placed in Iraq by Iran with the ability to project violence on the region,” said Ms. Slotkin, an expert on Shiite militias who recently visited Baghdad to meet with Iraqi and American officials. .....

Is this Iraq's thank you to President Trump? I don't see any negatives from removing the troops from Iraq and bringing them home was a campaign promise.

Pull em.

Got a list of other countries from which to pull em as well. Pull them all.

And then wait...but don’t send a single one back. For any reason. Just wait.

Take any part of the world You want when they are done killing themselves. Just that easy.

So , adopt an isolation policy as happened to the US post WW1
Let the dragon go back to sleep.
We know what happened the first time....

The US should not be involved at all in Iraq.

The only reference to Iraq should be the war crimes trials of Bush and Blair - and all those involved in lying about WMD's
The first Iraq war was legitimate because it was in defence of Kuwait - an ally - after an invasion.
That should have been it. Removing Saddam Hussain was a disaster.
In addition both Obama and Clinton should also be charged with war crimes for what they did in Libya.

The bottom line is GTFO of the ME where they are unwanted and bring to justice those that created the current mess.

The ONLY military action the US should undertake is in DEFENCE of their citzizens and those of their allies should it be required and agreed.
Their are no allies in Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan or Syria.

While i support withdrawal of troops from foreign lands, i can't help but remember the lessons learned from the isolationism of the 1920's. The 1930's were a really hard time for Americans....due in large part to our unwillingness to engage the world at large.

Different times today, and economic isolationism likely won't result from withdrawing from the ME. But we still need to learn something from mistakes made int he past.

Are we to seriously believe we will leave when Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi decides it is time. Based on a knee jerk reaction.
I'm just saying the truth, the US coalition will leave when we feel we are ready not because some Iraqi politician says so.
If we feel our interests need us there we will stay, hopefully we can leave but it will be on our time table, to think otherwise is foolish. There is no debate, we are and have always been calling the shots.

What?
If the Iraqi govt says leave, then what f****** business have the US got there???
Failure to leave means the US will be running a hostile occupation of Iraq.

Lol... they ain't leaving. Trump wants Iraq to pay the us back for all the money we put into the country for air bases and such and I dont think it was even a day after the okay, we are leaving like you want, we respect your sovereignty letter to them that they were coming out saying oops, sorry, that letter was a mistake. You cant make us leave.

And, pulling out of the middle east means pulling out of the middle east.. it would have to include isreal or we would end up in a more dangerous situation in time as the rest of the middle east went on their merry way getting stronger, still wanting us out of the region, still not really liking isreal much.

Israel is an ally under direct threat. If they want the US there then that is all good and legitimate.
