3 Billion dollars. Congress has passed a memorandum to fund Isreal with over 3 BILLION dollars a year. But even worse is that American citizens can be prosecuted for boycotting Isreal. How Chinese and Putin of you Congress. Im no fan of Isreal, but I can see the need to protect them. However, banning free speech tells me a lot. I personally would like to see foreign aid banished....it just goes to feed the war machine. I betcha all that money goes into buying more weapons which means Iran has to keep up by going for a Nuke.

Sigh.....

You get most of it back anyway and funding the Israeli military is much cheaper than doing everything they do yourself.
And keep in mind, a large portion of this funding is linked to the Egypt-Israeli peace treaty of 1979. Egypt recieved 1.4 billion US-$ in FY19 under the treaty as well.

It's not a good move to link it to efforts combatting the BDS, i'd agree with you there.

I don't know if it's correct to say "we" get most of it back

But the politicians do get a piece thanks to the Israeli lobby, which helps to explain their continued support

Do you have a link for this claim? I didnt see anything about this in the article you provided in your OP.

I did find this though...

The government’s new procurement guidance, now known popularly as the ‘boycott ban’, is a disturbing attempt to thwart BDS efforts by using scary language, but it does not ban boycotts.

Quoted right from the OP article

"provisions broadly supported by members of both parties, including the aid, but it also included a plank that would have let state and local governments punish Americans for boycotting Israel. "

It should be pretty evenly split between Boeing and Lockheed atm

But don't they pay taxes and dividends and provide high-income jobs?
And you don't have to pay to operate all those shiny toys, so whats not to like?

It seems like you have a problem with their decision...
I think there could be worse things we are spending 3 billion dollars on a year.
3 billion is not even that much.
I mean its not like that kind of money could help starving people or anything...

I humbly accept your criticism.. That money could go to a much needed pay raise for Congress. I would boycott the government but i might get arrested.

So if a shop doesn't stock Israeli goods or a person doesn't buy jaffa oranges or is seen reading the barcordes of goods in shops they can have a business closed down or be sent to court? That's crazy.
