Mechanical is more than just tanks. Anything with wheels and a motor. Could be engineering trucks. But what do I know. I only took a college course at the Citadel on the History of Modern Warfare.

Actually , the French had already developed the first prototype. The British were the first to deploy on a battlefield.

And , in the post you replied to was no mention of who invented the military tank. The US had them in WW1 and used them exactly as posted.
