I was looking at a TED X vid on YouTube about death bed visions and how when a death was near in those that were fully coherent had loved ones visit them, and the closer it came to their death the more frequent the visits became. Then scrolled down the comments until one caught my eye as very unusual, which was also as far as I was concerned unique.
It was written by a Para Medic who attended a collapsed man , their was a witness to the mans collapse and they were within a window of opportunity to give the guy resuscitation, after looking at the mans chest he noticed scares which suggested some chest surgery , and the thought occurred to him that a resuscitation would be pointless given the suggestion of their already being some Cardiac complications, however his partner had already loaded the syringe and was getting the paddles charged up, having no signs of life thinking it would be a fruitless task he went ahead anyway, and started the resuscitation. Surprisingly to him they got a heartbeat, put him in an ambulance and took him to hospital, where on arriving got called out to another emergency. This is where the story gets interesting, concerned on how his patient was doing, after his shift finished he went to the ward where he was on, and found the guy sitting up in bed eating an ice cream, being interested in near death experiences he asked the man did he remember anything about the heart attack, the guy said that he did not remember a thing about the heart attack, he just said that he went to his old van and drove to his home, got out of the van and started to feed his dogs and suddenly woke up in a hospital bed. The Para medic then thought that if they had not revived him , would he have just gone along as normal and lived his perceived reality before the resuscitation jerked him back to this reality.
Considering reality is seen and processed in the observers mind, from electro magnetic waves, when a trauma occurs might their be a fall back position where another interpretation of reality occurs to keep the flow coherent. Just thought I would share this , as many people have reported things like, for some miracle they are still alive after an event, where in all probability they should be dead, but is their a case that our perceived reality is actually a shared Lucid dream ,where interpretation of the input can be altered?

Parallel universes, no; dimensions? Perhaps, more like the collapse of our personal cross-dimension construct. You nailed it on mentioning that the closer one comes to natural death, the more frequent of experience. Bio electrical and chemical and quantum wonders put us together and make us what we are... White and grey matter in the brain hold our dimensional construct together in ways not understood yet, in a bastardized comparison, like hard drives, cpus and ASICs create digital devices, when one expires it isnt all at once... those NDE and experiences prior are your dimensional construct losing cohesion... leaking out if you would into your consciousness, or taking over completely. Not saying there isnt anything after that but...

It would be so cool if it depended on your beliefs, which is possible considering NDEs are often in line with beliefs of the experiencer. Atheists would cease to exist and I would be a fKing God.

Beliefs of the experiencer of NdE lends credence towards dimensional-construct decay of the white and grey matter ... u dont have NdEs of substance not ever experienced, perceived, thought about or imagined.

I know for a fact consciousness can be directed outwith the body and theres psychological experiments that show this. I don't care what you think and I don't wish to change your mind, I would rather you remained as you are.

I never discussed anything contrary to such and agree

If anything, it would be consciousness inward before outwith

Interesting that everything that can be observed, is part of the constructed environment, that has been interpreted by you to live in,along with your identity, that interpretation is the reality. Which remains always a memory which happens to be immaterial as memories tend to be. So whether one thing or another actually happened , what is remembered is the actuality. So all that is observed is always a memory, which in reality is of a non physical immaterial past, which can be subject to change.

That observation and memory are part of the trinity of self - all that we ever were, the observation here and now and then future, all we will experience henceforth

I'm your candidate....yep, it was painless.
a seamless crossover to a new reality. My tug got hit by a 747 loader at dfw airport ....in the Branniff days. 1 a m, and I had my head inside the last baggage car when it hit.
what I saw on my end was just a 12 gauge going off in my ear and i remember saying ...who's shooting a shotgun....then the image of the corner of the baggage car was frozen or imprinted on my eyes. I spent 4 seconds or more it seemed seeing how peaceful that metal and rivets were....he he

then the reality break...I went off from there then was seamlessly set in a new spot.....

then I was standing back 4 steps or so and people were running out filling the area and told me they were expecting to see parts of bodies. I wasn't at all interested....saw the tug smashed into the jetway pylon 40 feet down the way.

I wasn't even breathing hard....funny that I wasn't even interested.....some angel pulled me back right before the hurting part, huh!!

the visual ray.....busts clouds in under 3 minutes....anyone can do it....one sees effect after 40 seconds, then at a minute ana half the cloud is half wispy half gone....

I think a lot of us on here ponder these things.. what IS reality, life after death, The Wheel, dimensions.. is it all just a construct?
The concept was well illustrated in West World, when the Native Americans went to the Valley Beyond.. it makes you wonder for sure.

Not sure if it's the same thing but, when I was younger about 15/16 there was a "game" going 3 around, involving breathing in and then out while someone pushed on your chest, it was called the passout game,
anyway me and some friends were in a park late at night and decided to try it, I was the one to be "playing" so we did what was suppose to be done and as my friend was pushing on my chest (when the passing out part was suppose to happen) nothing,
it failed, we carried on chatting and messing around into the night, I woke the next morning,
my life carried on for years,
I was happy, content and lived so long that I forgot all about that night, then all of a sudden I felt something was not right, a feeling of dread washed over me and bang!
I was on the floor in that park all those years ago, as I came too everything was confusing, who are these people around me? Who am I? Where am I? Things started coming back to me, reality reconstructed itself around me within a minute or so and that was it. My friend said I was out for 5 seconds max and had tried to shake me to wake me which is when I came too, I never told them what I felt I experienced because I was afraid of what they would think,
but seeing the OP story of the paramedic is almost identical to what I felt I experienced, like I carried on living my life for years until I was pulled back in.
Very strange.

(Edit) the "game" I'm talking about is very dangerous I have since learnt and not to be tried, it can result in death as apparently it involved starving your brain of oxygen, very very dangerous, just wanted to add that.

MMM funny that, when I was ten on my pushbike I thought it a great idea to speed down this hill, and just chance going over this crossroads ,rather than slow down to actually check that their was no traffic coming, the whole block was high houses. Needles to say I hit a car and did a summersault over the top of a car and landed on my backside. The bike was a mess, but I didn't even have a scratch and the driver took me and my bike home .I think I jumped a reality on that one.

i have often wondered if i have died in other time lines, i have had a few very very close calls where by the apparent hand of god made it.

it would explain the Mandela effect, if you died in a car accident in one time line and woke up in this one you might retain some of the other time lines memories.

they say linear time is an illusion, or the way we perceive it is at least.

what if you true life span is all the potential time lines you can jump
