Is our technology advanced except in one or two areas?

Well, we don't even know that gravity *produces* waves. It very well might not, if it's more a spacial distortion than an actual "effect."

Actually, I was reading the other day that they are starting up an Einstein@home program similar to the SETI@home program where users from all over will corrolate data to search for and identify gravity waves.... Not sure of the particulars, but thought it sounded interesting...
