That district was Republican anyway. Think the GOP just had a bad candidate against him and he snatched it. If he wanted to keep his seat he was going to have to switch. Voting for impeachment would have been a death sentence if he stayed Democrat. Smart move.

It means that any bad stuff he did as a dem will be forgiven once he changes parties.

Like how he hasn't even officially made the change and you are already talking about all the bad things he has done?

Freshman Representative... it's in the OP. He hasn't had a lot of time to do bad things yet, unless you are saying he's on par with AOC and Omar?

It does remind me of The Reichstag Fire now that you mention it. A plot to usurp power and laying of blame. Good job.

Please inform us just how this reminds you of the Reichstag fire -inquiring minds would love to know.

Please elaborate on your position and back it up with historical details that are parallel to this situation.

So , there are some "True Blue Democrats" left.
Oops , looks like they are switching over , just like most of the "True Blue Democrat" voters .
The frustration level of the Progressive Liberals , and their officials they elected , in the once named Democratic Party is reaching the "boiling point"
They just don't get the real Democratic point of view at all.

And Trump's approval rating continues to slowly rise.....

Its situation like this one that bring me to the conclusion that these impeachment hearings are a shame. The Democrats will propagandize that the charges against Trump have been proven and that is guilt is evident. And yet they can't get everyone in their own party on board ... can't be all that evident if they can't even get people who have a political bias in favor of impeachment to agree to it.

Adolf used the fire as an excuse to purge the communists to solidify both the National Socialists and himself as a more powerful chancellor with the Enabling Act’s powers in his hands versus President Hindenburg.

The House Democrats are using the impeachment to usurp power to remove a duly elected President without true cause in a slipshod procedure.

Parallel but opposite as far as legislature overpowering a person, but then again the parallels to communism and modern Progressive Democrats are fairly indistinguishable while calling themselves Democratic Socialism.

Trump in all this is like Hindenburg in any case. Schiff is like Hitler and Pelosi is Goebbels.

Schiff is like Hitler and Pelosi is Goebbels.

Look, I know Hitler and Goebbels were terrible human beings, but... aren't you taking the insults to then a little too far?

I imagine any Democrat that doesn’t vote to impeach will be dead to the party anyway.

We're a Couple of Misfits

We're a couple of misfits
We're a couple of misfits
What's the matter with misfits
That's where we fit in!
We're not daffy and dilly
Don't go 'round willy nilly
Seems to us kinda silly
That we don't fit in.
We may be different from the rest
Who decides the test
Of what is really best?
We're a couple of misfits
We're a couple of misfits
What's the matter with misfits
That's where we fit in!

Well, it's a change of pace. We went from comparing Trump to the much worse Hitler, all the way to comparing Hitler to the much worse Schiff.

Minnesota House Democrat Collin Peterson affirmed tonight that he will vote no on Impeachment.

The pirate ship is leaking crew members.

I see somebody here has managed to walk their own plank too. It was a decision of mercy, imo, from whoever made it for the mental health of the plankee.

They all just saw what happened in the UK elections, I guarantee a LOT of democrats in swing/red states are going to be rethinking their approach to this impeachment.

If they don't, they will be out of office, I'll be voting for a politician for the first time since I first voted in 1999 for Al Gore. Might as well make the whole ticket I vote for red since the California exodus flooded Nevada with liberals and turned the state blue.

Time to counteract that with my vote,

Sincerely signed,

The silent majority.

If enough seats convert, wouldn’t it be something if Nancy Pelosi lost the speakers seat before the election?

I think a motion of a Vote of No Confidence needs to happen ahead of the Floor Vote on Impeachment on the grounds that the motion to review Schiff was tabled ahead of the Inquiry. The outcome of that review may have made a difference in how the Inquiry was conducted.

Pelosi’s own statement of how long they had been working on impeachment is also suspect of an unfair procedure. A No Confidence vote against the Speaker cannot be tabled.

They become the 45th president of the united states and try to impeach them.

Congressman Jeff Van Drew represents my district. I am a republican and I have always supported him as far back as when he was running for NJ state offices. He is very active in our district and represents us well.

I called his office when he was running for congress because I wanted to hear his stand on the impeachment issue. I left a message and he called me back within an hour. We had a very good, long conversation (not my first with him) and he let me know that he would not support impeachment unless it was shown that there was evidence of high crimes and misdemeanors. I also previously had a chance to speak with him about gun rights and he is most definitely a staunch Second Amendment supporter.

The Congressman is a man of his word and, I'm sure, did not make this decision lightly or for any political reasons. I really feel that it is another case of "I didn't leave the Democrat party, it left me". He is a rare breed in Congress....a man of honesty and integrity. Sorry for sounding like a campaign ad, but I just wanted to share my personal opinion and experiences with him.

You just scored a three-point shot in the world's dumbest game. Congratulations.

On-Topic: Good for Van Drew. He just scored a two-point shot.

The top teams will horse-trade back and forth for as long as they can because it makes the pregame show more exciting. In five minutes, a group of lefties will cheer and pat each other on the back for making a' public gesture on behalf of their team. Everyone will smile for the camera and post their reactions to Twitter. Likes will shower onto the field and all the little hearts and stars will fill in. Wee!

In politics, nothing happens by accident. If it happens, you can bet it was planned that way.

Can you name a dem that isn't corrupt?

I can't name a Republican that I can safely say isn't corrupt. I can name some that I don't know if they are corrupt.

I can also name a Democrat that I don't know is corrupt... Doug Jones, Senator from Alabama. So far I can't say one way or another. I can't say I trust him, but that doesn't mean I think he's corrupt. I guess I can say the same about Tulsi Gabbard, come to think of it. I don't agree with her policies, but that certainly doesn't make her corrupt.

It's not about the party... it's about the members of the party. The DNC has put their worst foot forward. That's on them, not on me.
