James Comey's name is not present in the OIG FISA report

Search the document for the string 'comey' and it will return 0 results.

Now, search the document for the string 'c o r n e y' but without the spaces. 149 results. In other words, the person named James Comey is not mentioned. Instead, it references someone named James Corney. Consistently, throughout the document. It is as if somebody did a search and replace, substituting Comey with Corney. Why would someone do that?

And before you ask, the fonts used in the document do possess the character m. From page i of the Executive Summary

The OIG examined more than one million
documents that were in the Department's and FBI's
possession and conducted over 170 interviews involving
more than 100 witnesses. These witnesses included
former FBI Director Corney, former Attorney General
(AG) Loretta Lynch, former Deputy Attorney General

The document says Comey on the first page. So there is an issue with the search function? Is that the apex of this thread, a broken search feature.

It looks like it says Comey, but the OP is right it's an RN.

Look closer. Copy and paste it into notepad or something. It says 'Corney'

Someone on 4chan debunked this. It was a glitch with copy and paste or something.

Highlight that name, Stupidsecrets.

Then paste it into a search engine. Heck, paste it into Word or Pages or anywhere. It will come up C o r n e y (without the spaces).

That is weird... I did a search for Comey too and I got 149 hit on Corn Pop....

That's not true, I searched james (lower case J) and found his full name along with James Baker's name.

Here is a quote from the document:

Oops, I apologize because I guess I didn't notice they spelled it Corney instead.

Looks like the genius derp state has foiled your plans again! I'm sure they were trying to hide his name in the document so that it could never be found, but they didn't even think about people reading it and finding it anyways! Perfect plan ruined by the obvious.

That's an OCR glitch.
You can see vertical streaks in the headers on each page- this was printed, scanned, then OCR'd back into searchable text. Whatever software they used sees that as Corney.

On page 69 it saw it as Comey, with an M.

Corney Comey is asking for an apology again. Says his wife is traumatized.

It's the OCR Adobe Acrobat uses. Type up some text in the same font and save it as an image, then use Acrobat to convert it to a PDF and recognize the text. It will convert "Comey" to "Corney." This is probably because the algorithm it uses tries to make real words. "Corney" is an actual place, so it probably exists in the list of words Acrobat knows while, "Comey" is not in that list.
