Washington (CNN)A "slow-moving blob" that may have been a flock of birds triggered a lockdown of the White House and caused the US Capitol to be placed on "restrictive access" Tuesday morning.

Senior national security officials across the agencies convened to coordinate and monitor the situation after the mysterious "blob" was seen on radar at the Capitol Police command center flying just south of the National Mall,

Is that what showed up on the radar as an unresponsive aircraft and caused a helicopter and jets to be scrambled while the Whitehouse was in lockdown for a little while?

OP edited and added that info while I was typing my message.

Hopefully they are arriving and friendly, they open up the cargo doors, cattle prod every last politician into their cosmic trailer and launch it to a galaxy far far away.

The problem is why is a flock of seagulls running, they should be flying.

Not if they are dodging a huge alien blob!

Why does this make me think:
"If you can dodge an alien blob, you can dodge a ball"

So the real question I think we should all be asking is:
"did anyone on the ground see this mass of birds, or was there a confirmation of the aircraft?"

It would seem to me that this could have been an attempt to get an un-named person/persons into or out of DC. That's just me though.

U.S. Capitol Evacuated After Small Plane Violates Airspace Rules

This video does not say or show exactly what the object was. It does show some of the lock down happening around the Capital.

I thought birds only had one speed.

It could have been a cloaked flying object.

Most radar systems in the US are commercial systems used by air traffic control, and mirrored to NORAD. That means they're older systems. It's a lot cheaper to piggyback on the FAA system than it is to build enough military operated systems to duplicate what the FAA system does and monitor US airspace.

So you are saying DC has less capability by far than a carrier? How stupid is that.
