Just a reactionary response to feeling categorized.

Didn't notice you being categorized.
Where was that ?

Is it possible it was more self-identification, that somebody specifically categorizing you ?

One question will this be celebrated in the schools? They celebrate mothers day in schools and relegated fathers day to the summer when school is out. Will the teachers celebrate this day like they do for other international days of celebration?

Just checked it is not even listed in the international days of celebration.

Manly Men DAY!

Going to chop wood, kill a bear with my bare hands, spit, drink a beer, pat the butt of my woman, man-spread, man-splain, and man-a-tee today!

Well? Did you succeed in all of that? I sat around in my recliner and watched Ohio at BGSU. Then I got up early this morning so I could go get my wife a french vanilla iced coffee (bluuuuuugh) to make up for bruising her liver when I took advantage of Man Day.

Lies. Only Trump supporters are sexist, even the women. Women who support Trump are misogynists.

I don't need to celebrate the way I was born.

I just need people to stop condemning me for it.

I'm proud of my achievements, not my genetics.

I'm honestly sick of everything needing a day and being celebrated because feelz and sweet # all else.

Look forward to the day where every ones focus is on being a human, and a decent one at that, and nothing else. A focus on what makes us all the same, instead of this constant need to focus on everything that makes us different.

Ahhhhh.... perspective is everything.

We can celebrate and express admiration and appreciation for lots of reasons. Why limit ourselves? Limiting ourselves -- or others -- does no one any good. In fact, exactly the opposite.

Everyone of us, every day, is faced with our own unique experiences and challenges and adventures, handled with our own creativity and ingenuity in our own way. We learn from each other -- both what to do and what not to do. We grow and evolve and better ourselves in the process. When we have love and support and encouragement in the process, we do even better.

Not just as individuals, but as a whole.

My 2015 poem Man Song:

"Man Song":

We were pushed in little norms,
march and shout and uniforms.
A shorter life just say your graces
build your muscles take up spaces.
Make the money, pray to God
while you're treated like a dog.
Don't move your lips, have no opinion,
fight for some dead queen's dominion.
Don't complain, there is no exit
after all you are a sexist.
You were born a useless male
you're more endangered than the whale.
Inferior you're not a leader
they even call your shirt wife-beater.
Don't pose too much that's just a guise,
don't think too much, you're never wise.
Born attached a male defect
just laugh it off; it won't infect.
You drink too much, the experts find
but that is just the male-child mind.
Feel the pressure to make wealth
and take the powders in Men's Health.
Lie awake as you can't sleep
without the shepherd no more sheep.
Violent, nasty, vain and cruel
but men can take it - it is cool.

You're mental, tired, hard and worn.
It must be all that bloody porn.

Hey I get where you're coming from. But celebrating something beyond our control IS limiting for me. We're being limited by the labels we put on ourselves and others.

I'm not special because I was born white, or male, or in Australia, or because I am heterosexual, anymore than someone being gay, black, female, a midget, or anything else they had no say in needs celebrating.

That's just me. Maybe it's the Aspergers, but while I understand why most people are into this kind of thing, it makes no sense to me.

I was born! um... Hooray?

I feel good for being me and what I do. I don't want a pat on the head because what's in between my legs.
I know it's not your intent and I have massive respect for you and more often than not agree with your point of views, but these type of posts kind of make me feel insulted and patronized.

Sure live as you choose, I'm not going to stop you or anyone else. I'm not limiting anyone. I'm just expressing myself that I feel it's this kind of thing that is holding the species back.
Yep, it's a matter of perception, everything is. That's a fact.

I dunno maybe I'm just secure enough in myself and comfortable with my genetics to not need my fragile ego stroked and my existence validated by the internet?
Who knows? Not me.

You need to become an Aussie
Sunday, 6 September is when we do Dad Day.

Then again, be pretty amazing to have your kids spend the whole day with you on Father's Day, than them being stuck in school the whole time. (Then again not many Western cultures have school on Sunday regardless of where in the world you are.

Then again we do mother's day on a Sunday too. Thought it was Sunday everywhere, kind of sucks you send your kids to school on that one day......

Jokes aside though, I didn't need to be at school to arts n crafts both my parents a card etc on either day.
I was just as capable of doing so at home

This woman who came to supper tonight, my dad and her, are the #ing?

Yeah they probably are.

Do I care - nope.
And I asked mom, do you care?
Do you want me to do something about it?
She says, nope, she doesn't care.

Sounds like you have a real solid perspective towards yourself and the world around you... And that's pretty awesome. For yourself and those you love and who love you. But just remember it's important to let others appreciate you and even maybe celebrate you at times.

It's important for all of us to appreciate people and circumstances and sometimes even things in our life. Letting others value and appreciate you is a gift to them as well as to yourself.

It's a big world out there, but we're all in it together!
