The Duke of York is stepping back from royal duties for the "foreseeable future" due to the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.

Prince Andrew said his links with the convicted sex offender had become a "major disruption" to the Royal Family.

Earlier, a letter written to the Times newspaper by Buckingham Palace cast doubt on when the duke first met Epstein.

The 2011 letter says they met in the early 1990s, not in 1999 as Prince Andrew said in his BBC interview.

BT (Ed: British Telecom) also became the latest in a series of organisations to distance themselves from Prince Andrew, following the interview.

What worries me about this is that it is the typical Royal Family response to scandal:
"Oh, you won't put up with that... Ok, we will stop you having to deal with him"...
i.e. They won't let him be subject to the same law as everyone else - they'll just remove him from the chess board!

Ahem my good friend. When was it any different? Isn't the reason certain members of the population are enamored with these costumed posers is because they are not the same? Don't people "dream" of being Royal because it puts them above it all?

Quiet removal is the name of the game in some places. His "scandal" is the same as a politico stepping down for a sex scandal or "spend time with family" and now they're off to the dungeon. The NPC are spared the trauma, while anons see another piece removed.
