Richard Sollars, the mayor of Taylor, Michigan, was arraigned Thursday in U.S. District Court in Detroit on seven counts of bribery, one count of conspiring to commit bribery and 18 counts of wire fraud.

Each count is punishable by as much as 20 years in prison and by fines of as much as $250,000.

I've identified the 19 bytes difference between Q3661 and Q3745...

Q3745 has this string added in the header:

Photoshop 3.0.8BIM. (BIM = Bitmap Image?)


ETA - A search of "Photoshop 3.0.8 steganography" brings up this tutorial on hiding one picture within another in photoshop!

I'm using that ghcq.github.io link that had everyone freaked out.

I thought it was interesting that different imputs were generating identical imputs for 3 of the 4 file names.

I'm not sure how much stock I place in the outputs, but the final result was sort of fun.

Both have image size 519 x 649

Did you actually measure that data, or did you have a look (and assume correct) the data supplied with the photo that someone may or may not have hidden something inside?

Secondly, what could one hide in 19 bytes?

You are trying to hide a file ... ergo it needs to have data in it.

Hiding something in such small files is nigh to impossible.

Have you looked at all of Q's videos. Serious size = lots of room to hide data.

See the later post where I (and EMN) identified the 19 bytes to be a "Photoshop 3.0.8BIM" string in the header. I think this was just a pointer. It's the other photo pair that have a 23,499 bytes difference.

... and yes I measured the actual file and did a Hex editor comparison on both versions.
