suspiciously obvious BS

This for me is the interesting thing here Nyiah. To some of us this is obviously true, that it is suspiciously obvious BS. Yet to others is it not. Even with an early post raising the question of the validity of the remarks and the links to the satire site from which it was likely lifted, the original post still garners numerous stars in support of the baloney.

As well the many posts supporting these questionable comments. This indicates that either people are not reading further than the OP or that they are and are just ignoring valid questions involving the veracity of the original post.

In the past this kind of thread was removed to the HOAX bin and even though our OP has told us that she has contacted moderators asking for the thread to be shut down, it has not and reamains here in this forum.

At this point I think that this thread demonstrates just how mired many here are and there basically is nothing to do about that. But for those who still question stuff like this it could be good to just let the thread remain in the hopes that those few who still at least hope to have an open mind will see what is happening here.

Oh indeed. I'm all for it. Again, I was playing devil's advocate regarding social security as socialism.

That being said I have little hope that when it comes time for me to collect that I will get anything like the numbers retiree's are getting now. Either the payouts will have to be lowered or the age of availability raised (probably to 70).

While some of us are still on topic here, that being the Pelosi statement and countering information many of our members have gone off into another topic of social security and medistuffs. Mama though remains on topic though vacillating from staunch belief in the OP and questioning it validity. At least Mama appears to be honestly appraising the issue while others just seem to be ignoring it.

I say let's leave it here as it is as a sample of many things that are rampant on ATS today....

There is some truth there, but you need to pray for discernment and do a LOT of verification.

Basically , Mama requested the mods to shut down the thread about an hour and a half ago. From this we can glean any number of things.

One, the mods are sleeping
Two the don't really exist at all and are just bots
Three, they like the mis-information that is stoked by the plethora of stars and flags the OP is garnering in hopes that this thread can remain one of the more often clicked sources for this dis-info....

Or like me they want to let it stay to demonstrate just how far off base dis-info can spread in this information age.

Nah,,, not surprised at any of those possibilities at all, except the last one. I doubt that that is going on, but we can hope huh?
