I want some accountablity here.

I was actually quite pro-Martha in the case, but punishment is punishment.

Nobody gets to take that thing off. I can't believe they made her a deal.

Yes, this is special treatment.

Oh #E! RANT and I agree on something?

Oh no maybe the sky is falling!

In seriousness, it would not exactly be good for that to be one TV now would it, but yes it is spacial treatment no doubt about it.

Well in all fairness she WAS on TV. It's not like she was a flight risk
But I agree Punishment is Punishment. Whether I agree with the charges or not, she agreed to complete her sentance, and this just broke it. Will she go back? I do not think so. For all we know she could have recieved permission. Interesting find ED!

EDIT: I even watched the thing live and it didn't hit me. doh

Maybe she opted for a Verichip version of the tether, less of an eye sore, more like a small itch.

OMG! I agree with Ed
For one thing.....she had no reason to go to jail to begin with! Leave her the hell alone.... dang! And no I am not a fan and have never even watched a show of hers (how boring)

Maybe she had it in her pocket.....does it have to actually be on the ankle??

Do you have to wear them all the time?? Would a bath short one out, or are they water proof?

I just want to know how?? She must be going down to the PO everyday to get it off before TV then going back after work to have it put back on.

I mean it's still wrong though. It stays on the whole time for the rest of us.

Showers. Sex. Work. Sex. I said sex right?

It's supposed to be punishment.
She should be embarrassed or just wear pants. :shk:

And why wouldn't she just leave it on and wear pants? This is FLAUNTING her specialness on TV to everyone that ever had an ankle braclet that she's better than us!
I mean them.

We need to find out more here.

Ahhh if there's some new technology (and not just for her) okay then.

We need to find out though.

The lady is a multimillionaire. I think different rules apply to the priviledged.

Can you see one of us going without our ankle bracelet?

Today a law official said that there was so much media following Martha around, they had no worries about her slipping the leash.

She'll have it on by tomorrow, probably. Let's hope it matches her purse.

edsinger,

This whole case has been a farce!

Martha didn't do anything wrong to begin with!

What was the charge? Lying to government investigators on some stocks that she sold and they called that obstruction of justice?

Who in their right mind would want to lose money on a tip to sell?

EDIT: BTW, what other "convict" has ever went to prison and tripled their worth in 5 months?

Ah okay. Yeah, it's not automatic or done by the prison system. It's probably subcontracted to a private firm and she needs an appointment.

As long as she gets one.

The probation office hasn't met with Martha to give it to her yet, reports I've seen say it could take up to a week before she is fitted with the ankle bracelet.

She's not in violation of any probation agreement.

Djohn,

Do you have a link for that?

It very well could be. I thought they had to give it to you before you left prison?

Martha Stewart has 72 hours to meet with her probation officer and will be fitted with the ankle bracelet at that time. She got out friday, had this meeting on monday morning and is probably wearing the beeper to bed even as you read this.

Love and light,

Wupy

The usual. Go to Georgia on vacation, leave on probation.

I'd have been better off lying to the SEC in a federal investigation cover-up.

Stupid, stupid. (hits head)

No it is not special treatment, she has 72 hours to be fitted and who knows how long it takes to make one up. An hour? Five hours, who knows it might be as few days before she finally gets one.

I've been mainly following this on TV so I don't have a link off the top of my head, but this is a far more complex procedure than simply putting a bracelet on her ankle. A technical team has to come out to the house to install the monitoring stations tied in to her phone line and test to make sure everything is working and it properly detects when she's in or out of her house.
