Do you feel cancelled by the progressive/liberals and their party, the Democratic Party?

I’m pretty sure the Left can’t wait for all middle-aged white men like me to die. I get the overwhelming impression that leftists hate their own race and Western civilization. Haven’t we done a few good things for the world? Here’s a short list of things invented by white men: democracy, eyeglasses, printing press, steam engine, germ theory, scientific method, internal combustion engine, flush toilets, electric power, the light bulb, antibiotics, anaesthesia, refrigeration, hot and cold running water, jet airliners, motion pictures, television, transistors, integrated circuits, the Green Revolution, intermodal freight transportation, the Internet and cell phones. Virtually everything that makes your modern lifestyle possible was invented by white men.

They shouted and rushed the stage until the event was canceled. Tons of examples of the same tactic used on different campuses. Where were they when Obama was putting migrants in camps and a record number of children were dying crossing the border.

So when conservatives start shutting down progressive speakers and calling them communists who spew hate through free speech you won't complain right? Two sides to every story. Do you see how this isn't a healthy way to debate ideas?

Yes word can't hurt you if you're an adult and can respectfully debate your point without having mental breakdown like these students.

I went to a comedy club last night. Some snowflakes had a total meltdown and walked out.

The comedian was making fun of Bernie Sanders mannerisms, not his policies mind you, not what he says, just his mannerisms. A bunch of snowflakes were stone faced and didn't loosen up or even smile for at least 10 more minutes.

Now if the comedian had thoroughly trashed Trump or even Barron Trump (a child) they would have stood and cheered.

But just make fun of a Democrats mannerisms (not even their personality) and wham, total meltdown.

It was interesting to watch. For sure that comedian was cancelled by those snowflakes. How did I know the ones who walked out were snowflakes. Well the man bun with a 3 foot ponytail hanging out of it was one indication. The huffing out was another immediately after the comedian made fun of Bernies mannerisms. The rest looked like students from the local college, just old enough to get in, but not old enough to drink.

I'm even willing to bet if that comedian comes back a bunch of the college snowflake totalitarians will be outside the club ready to storm it so he can't do his set.

You know, Billies... I love some of your commentary and disagree with some of it as well. Perhaps it’s due to the angle you appear (to me) to be coming at things from that isn’t consistent with me. That said, in this post, I see your points and agree.

Yes. I feel cancelled.

I’m a mid 30s, educated and successful white dude in the PNW. I have no accent. I am largely British by heritage According to Ancestry’s DNA swab. I’m also not a racist, a bigot, a woman hater/abuser, I don’t hate the LGBTQ community and generally I’m more-less a Libertarian. I also happen to love data and do my darndest not to make an assertion if I can’t back it up with numbers or some sort of observable fact. I have lovely little girls and a wonderful wife. I take care of them. They take care of me. I don’t burden society. I have patience for those that can’t help themselves. I’m not perfect. I’m trying to be a good human for my family and my fellow humans.

Yet according to current culture I’m the devil. Literally. I’m not into PC BS. I’m not a fan of never ending social safety nets. I don’t like the idea of forwarding anyone for any reason but they earned it. I believe there are things that mothers provide a family that a father cannot and vice versa. My girls don’t get medals for “participating” and they don’t get rewarded for meeting expectations. I’m old school in many ways. I like it. But society doesn’t.

My wife is younger than I and we both feel as though we have old souls. We aren’t supposed to be here in this day in age - the current environment makes zero sense to us and it’s pure emotion/outrage/blame/hate/etc. none of which is consistent with how we live or want to live.

And if I voice my opinion, I’m ridiculed. Hates on. Flamed. Told I’m not “woke”.

No. I’m not “woke”. I’m not anything but a man who wants to take care of his family, doesn’t buy the current narrative, wants all humans to be as good as they can be on any given day and I hope to continue to society positively going forward.

And for all of that - yes - I have been cancelled.

You’ve posted 100 times since 2007 and came out of the woodwork for this? Seriously? It’s the most disgusting thing you’ve read in a long time? Do you not read the “news” on a daily basis and live under a rock? Are you triggered? Wtf?

Your post smacks of arrogance. You think he can fix it? You think YOU can fix it?

The problems we face have been developing for a long, long time and are entirely by design. If you don’t see it that way, fine - but to me you’re blind.

Maybe his children - which are probably my age - and my children - which are are younger - can fix this. I hope so.

But FFS wishing evil on the guy is just silly. Maybe another way of interpreting his comment is that his kids can solve some problems his generation can’t - which isn’t a bad thing.
