No one is sticking up for communism. But ask the right questions and stop making such broad strokes with rebuttals and you'll find out that most people who bring it up are rather socialist who reject post modernism. Talk about communism is to just weed out the idiots and trolls to see who is actually up for discussion.

A real question that we can all ask is what is the true value of capital to a capitalist?

1) Democracy is compromise. Communism is totalitarian.

2) Western/capitalist countries have a relatively tiny history of killing their own citizens.

3) Autocratic backing of wealthy you say? Look at every example of communism. Refer back to number 2).

4) Freedom is not an opinion.

5) I wholeheartedly agree.

Again I ask...

Have you every talked to a communist or socialist?

Have you read any history of communism?

Etc.

Condemning a whole ideology based on hear-say, propoganda, and popular culture without any attempt to learn about what you are condeming is ignorance. It is the very definition of ignorance. And when it is williful, not just lazy....

“There is a principle which is a bar against all information,
which is proof against all arguments,
and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance—
that principle is contempt prior to investigation.”

The above quote is often mistakenly attributed to Herbert Spencer ... actually it appears to be a paraphrase of a minister William Paley and

“Condemnation without investigation is the height of ignorance,” is an abbreviated form that has been variously attributed to Albert Einstein, Ernest Hemmingway, Thomas Edison, and Ralph Waldo Emerson.

So the principle (of contempt prior to investagtion) is well recognized.....

Here's a fair video on the principle/concept...

One would assume that I'm talking to one now.

No matter how many great minds you paraphrase, actions speak louder than words and history proves time and time again that communism is oppressive and totalitarian.

Thanks for the back handed reply but in the end, I'm right and you're wrong.
