Agents searched Roberts’ vehicle pursuant to a search warrant and located approximately 7 pounds of suspected methamphetamine. Agents also located nearly an ounce of suspected heroin along with scales, packaging material, and other items consistent with drug sales.

www.redwoodtimes.com...

It's about d*mn time. Seven pounds of meth and an ounce of heroin taken off the streets. These three were back walking my neighborhood by the next day. Catch and release here in Humboldt. The drug problem here is way out of hand. You can always tell when the candy man comes to town because the streets of Eureka become a circus of tweekers and junkies dancing on the corners and running in the street. I've been having an ongoing battle with a drug house next to me that the police will do nothing about. So, it's good to see that something has been done here.

WE just had a couple here die of an overdose of something. Nice couple, both were working steady but decided to take a break and cop a buzz and they ODed. The number of people burned out here on drugs is getting higher and higher. I can't understand how it got this way.

People are overdosing more, because dealers are mixing Fentenayl into their "product."

I think that may have been the case here. The girl was the manager of a restaurant here, she was very friendly, not an addict. I suppose her and the boyfriend got some from someone and decided to give it a try. They are not saying anything, the mother mentioned something about OD on Facebook though. It could be anything though, even maybe a mixture of different meds with alcohol or something. I do not know. I originally thought it may have been carbon Monoxide, but it wasn't from what I hear. Others originally were guessing murder suicide, but they were way off. They did not release the names and everyone was guessing and chatting about things...normal everyday chatter.

Sadly that isn't even a drop in the bucketcompared to what isn't caught. Personally I'm am against drugs being illegal, however those 2 particular ones standout as basically the most harmful ones of popular consumption. I just think we take the laws off them and let the junkies do the rest for us...pretty soon the problem addicts will kill themselves and over a few years there won't be many left. Plus the unchecked use will be the best don't do drugs propaganda ever seen.

It would be interesting to know the per capita OD deaths by age group today versus say 1965 or 1970.

I'll bet it's not that different. I think we're just hearing about it more. Now, meth other hand is a completely different story, but not that many people OD on meth, so you wouldn't be able to find a statistic on that.

SEVEN POUNDS?? Man, That's a whole weeks worth...

Actually, thinking of it in weight, it's funny how addicts are always so skinny....

With meth, the problem is the craving. When someone takes it, it's a complete body orgasm. And clarity of thought, and everything someone who is 'wanting' wants... but it turns into a disaster, because they cannot stop. that is the truly demonic nature of that substance. Because, occasional one night use, would not cause harm.. but, there that is.. no one has self control, no one wants it, if what they want is a hit away.

heroin though, the harm comes directly from it being illegal. it's never of a known purity or quality. So you get something off joe today, tomorrow you get something of jack, and it's stronger and you nod all night long.. then you get something off jill and it's dirty, cut with fentanyl, and you're blowing throat bubbles out your nose.

If it were dispensed from a legal authority, sold at cost price (peanuts) and regulated, you'd see crime and overdoses drop overnight. Drop, not cease... nothing curtails the individual who cares not for a life free of excess.

But as it is, everything is under the illegal umbrella and everything counts towards the same end... criminals must be eradicated. So even pot head pete gets lumped in with it, thanks to prohibition. Even if he has a card that says he can, but it expired last night and he forgot to renew it.

And none of that jumping out of perfectly good planes, either. Idiots seeking that natural high. And when their chute fails, they land at full speed and break every bone in their body yet miraculously survive, we give them a slot on "Worlds deadliest moments..." and a book deal.

And no flavour in your food, too. Makes people fat.

And certainly no exercise, don't you know it releases endomorphins.. they're NATURAL opioids. Bloody junkies...

I like your concept.. Don't do anything which nature provides, to be more natural.

People overdose all the time. Not everyone DIES from an OD.

No the harm from heroin is the physical dependency...it makes you physically ill and doesn't take a whole lot to get you there. Meth on the other hand literally rots your body with very rapid aging effects basically...just saying. And I'm not even against drugs I just think some are way worse for you than others lol.

I would say "life" includes everytging you can find in it...which would include drugs. It's when they consume your life that theres a problem.
