New show... Evil

Recently started watching CBS new show Evil. Only a couple episodes in but so far fairly impressed.
Definitely has a bit of a X-files vibe. Only dealing instead with possession and miracles.
You have the troubled priest with a shadowed past who’s the believer that knows more than
he let’s on. Then the skeptic who gets slowly drawn in to questioning everything she thinks is real.
Add in Michael Emerson, (spoiler alert) who I’m pretty sure at this point plays the devil
himself if not a close association. And you have a new show that I really hope continues
to live up to the hype.

Between Evil and Prodigal they are both new shows with some promise IMHO.

Yeah I do enjoy Prodigal too. Really wanna see where they're going with his missing time.

Maybe we should not be so quick to be entertained.

I don't always watch TV...
but when I do, it's Evil on CBS.

So far, it's not completely vapid, has psychedelic gobbling proto priests and incarnate psychologist demons ...
what's not to like?

It's an intelligent, well acted, superbly crafted show. Great casting as well....and great set design.

We've been watching it and it's okay. Missed George this last episode, but I'm sure he will pop back up!

I can't believe what I'm hearing here. Something positive about Hollywierd on ATS, the liberal cesspool of progressive thought leading us into a socialist/commie deepstate world of filth and filthiness!

Episode 2 they went full PC with the stupid racism card.

It's more the anti-X-Files. In X-Files there was usually a plausible explanation, but viewers were left with the alternative one being viable or more likely. EVIL may keep going the path they are going or may change to start including the supernatural.

The show is only ho hum, one more case of PC propaganda and I will likely quit watching. Here is to hoping they can control themselves and work on the show not their political agendas.

Interesting.

I heard a similar thing about the new Watchmen show. My brother said something about it having racism and white supremacists.
Don't know how true or to what extent as I don't watch hardly any TV but with these two shows, the recent Captain Marvel stuff and a few others it sure seems like Hollywood is starting to push their agenda pretty hard.

EVIL chose a topic that is basically completely non-existent. I have worked in healthcare for over 10 years, and my wife is a nurse too. She was semi watching while I was watching and when she heard the direction the show was taking that episode she thought it was beyond ridiculous. My wife is not white.

Live evil!! eviL stiG... oh the fun one can have...

But, whoa! Last week was a twist and a half on the regular trope of teenagers with a oujia board!!

I had caught the first episode and CBS told it was TV’s fastest growing show (after one episode! lol!). I like the characters and with a few plot twists... OK. I will watch!

Compared to other shows this has potential to be a true MF instead of laid back Scream Queens-ish glitz (season one is pretty good! Ma Roberts is awesome and JLC is awesome but then it starts a decline that I couldn’t watch).

This one is mature with enough creepiness to keep you wondering!

Another show to drag us in, then before we realise it, cancelled, so we rally on the twittersphere to bring it back, to no avail..

At least we did get a final season of Lucifer...

It's terrible. It was on every single channel and no way for me to turn it off and watch my favorite TV series about porn, The Deuce.

It's entertaining enough. Better than Chicago: Minor Emergency Clinic or whatever is next in line for that group of shows.

Can't say that I've noticed any "agenda" being pushed, but then again I don't watch television actively looking to find an agenda either.

You don't need to look for an agenda to see them pull a racism card out of left field for no reason, where it had nothing to do with the story, did not advance the plot, and is something that is not actually a race problem.
