City leaders delayed plans Saturday to bring down a pair of unstable construction cranes in a series of controlled explosions at the site of a partially collapsed Hard Rock Hotel in New Orleans.

The planned explosion will now take place Sunday, no earlier than noon. No specific time has been set at this time.

Watch Live: Crane demolition expected soon

The explosion will take place between now and 4pm EST. The crane demolition keeps being delayed. It should of happened around noon today but was delayed again. There is no info on why it has been delayed today.

Replay of the crane implosion.

Really do want to see this live, but couldn't really be bothered watching for the next 2 hours... If ya could, just make sure you tell us when they give the 2 minute warning.

It just happened and did not go as planned. No one was hurt. It is still live and they are showing replays.

I will find a video of it and post it here.

That was pretty awesome, but I don't think it turned out like they expected... one of the cranes fell backwards straight on the street.

They couldn't hire some iron workers to just bring down the cranes? Look at the mess they are in now.

Looks as though they hired the wrong guys.

Mayor's son and buddies maybe?

They said the cranes and building were too unstable to take down with iron worker.

Back to the drawing board.

I think at this point they might need to shut down the block and hire a very expensive mobile crane to take it apart in pieces now, which might include the iron workers again.

They should go with whatever anyone is offering. Dumb. That's probably what went wrong with the building. Taking shortcuts to save money. Some of the laborers are illegal immigrants. Those that are injured are now in ICE custody. They're lawyaring up too. hufpost
