I fully agree with the above...notice I don't call it the "political left" If you think its just because its a "left" thing then like most people you haven't been paying real attention.

It is by design and to call it "right" or "left" leaves the question of "who benefits" unaswered.

The only conclusion you can come to is the "State" wins, enacting more draconian laws, clamping down on peoples rights while they lose what little "freedom" that remains.

I'm an American who has lived in Norway for almost twenty years now. I left the States in March of 2000. In that time, I've lived in Oslo and indre østfold (inner east side).

In this time, I've seen some hair raising things that would make even leftists rethink the situation.

What a lot of people don't know, is that Norway was your "quaint 50's suburbia" up until the mid / late 90's. It started before, but it wasn't as widespread before the 2000's. People would often go on vacation, forget to lock their door and find out that when they return, nothing has happened. Now? People (immigrants) break into your home while you're still at home!

It used to be safe walking downtown at night. Worst case scenario you might get a drunkard or two asking you for a cigarette. Now? You get robbed.

This isn't hyperbole. I honestly wish it was. But I've seen a country go down the drain (in many aspects) since I've been here. Even Oslo, I came in 2000 and loved Oslo. It wasn't before about eight months in I started noticing some serious issues, but they were so far and few between that they were one-off's. But those became more and more prevalent as time went on.

I remember in 2004 Somali's were busted giving away FREE heroin to kids to get them hooked on the stuff so they'd come back and buy from them. But that didn't stop them, and the cops were iffy at best trying to stop them.

Then again in 2008 or so, where Somali Muslims were busted for numerous rapes in Oslo. They're excuse? "Raping Norwegian women is like raping dogs - No one (in the immigrant community) cares". This sent Oslo into a scare, with the U.S. embassy sending out warning emails to us American's living there to NOT go out at night alone.

Personally, I've been asked if I enjoyed "The gift 'we' gave you". Confused, I asked what and was told, "September 11th". (Was at a party, some Muslim obviously didn't like me because, you know, American.)

And trust me, my experiences go into depth. Most brutal thing I've witnessed was a kid (10ish years old) literally knocked out by an immigrant father because his son and the knocked out kid got into an argument. I ran over, called the cops. The cops came, took the guys details and that was it.

He wasn't even arrested.

I've also been robbed at knife point outside Oslo City (shopping center). This was during the day! And no, it was no Norwegian.

I mean I could fill a couple of pages with stories, but it gets to me. Seeing what a pretty country like Norway is turning into. And it's not even Oslo anymore. Places like Moss, Fredrikstad, Sarpsborg (which are relatively close to each other) are getting bad. I've even heard of places far up north where the population is less than 500 getting bad(!).

I welcome any of you to come live in Norway for a year. I guarantee you'll see exactly what the OP and I are talking about.

I'm just going to be brutally honest and say they don't. A Norwegian economist who worked for the government 3-4 years ago was basically sacked because he said Norway cannot sustain immigrants at the rate they're coming in. Mainly due to the fact that the overwhelming majority of them do not (read: refuse) to work.

And Norway is a socialist country. Which is both a good and bad thing. Good because everyone is covered, bad because everyone is covered. This includes immigrants who have never, and will never pay into the system causing a drain on the system.

One of two things are going to happen: 1) Norway stops immigration or, 2) Norway becomes a capitalist country. And seeing how the Norwegian government for the most part turns a blind eye to immigration related issues, I'm thinking Norway will be forced to start changing drastically if it is to continue being one of the "richest countries". (Which is changing.)

Please bare in mind that I, as an immigrant myself have nothing against immigrants who would like to be PART of Norway and not force Norway to become a part of THEM.
