Anyone shooting the 224 Valkyrie on an AR platform

I have not fired the 224 Valkyrie yet but have a buddy selling his barrel and upper. It has a 1 in 9 inch twist 20 inch barrel. Just wondering if anyone has experience with this load on the AR platform? The shot tables look good up into the 90 grain bullet range.

It's a decent round. Stable, good down range energy.

If you are planning on hunting medium size game its decent. However, unless your a proficient reloader, the rounds can be a little spendy.

Personally i like the 25-06 on the ar. It's great for whitetail, and reasonable at the pricing end. Availability is big in my book, and the 25-06 has been around long enough to be found easily.

But, if the price is good, why not?

Who builds an upper and barrel for the .25-06 on the AR platform? I have only seen them in a bolt action.

Nope, will never waste my time on non-mass produced specialty calibers.

5.56/223 and .308 are all you need.

They are full custom. The 25-06 is to long to fit the ar mags.

It's basically a .257 Roberts stuffed into a necked down 30-06 case. Which makes them about a 1/4" longer than a.308 .

Contrary to the opinions of some of the "experts" around here, they have been made by highly modifying an ar10.

You can cheat with .257 Roberts or a .250 super, both of those fit the ar platforms readily.

I did a 6.5 Grendel and am tickled with the results. It's a true tack driver and is a capable deer round.
It was a mistake that make me buy it, but I'm damn glad I did.
