Trump reaches trade agreement with China. The farmers are saved. There’s also been a agreement on intellectual property.

From the year 2000 until 2017 agricultural purchases from the US by China average around $15 billion. This is a huge increase .

To quote Trump there’s going to be a lot of farmers working overtime “ 😆

The agreement includes China’s agreement to purchase $40 billion to $50 billion in U.S. agricultural products and a commitment to open itself further to international financial services, Mr. Trump said. The pact that officials are calling a first phase will be finalized in three to five weeks, Mr. Trump said after a meeting with Mr. Liu in the White House.

I’m a Trump fan and I love the tentative agreement. But to be completely honest I might have one problem with the deal if I’m right. I suspect the deal also includes a hands off agreement over the protest in Hong Kong .

But we’ve got to take the good with the bad. Maybe the BRITs will step up for the good people of Hong Kong .

3 to 5 weeks let’s see what happens.

You don't say!

You're in the right place, I'm pretty sure you don't need to make that declaration.

As much as people hate Trump, have they ever considered for a moment that his personality is the type we
need to deal with those types of world leaders?

PS. I thought the same thing of Saddam....

I make that declaration because I want people to know in no uncertain terms I’m honest and fair .

I try to set an example limited as it may be for the other side that has lost their moral compass .

Careful. The Dems may try to use that to get him impeached...
That could be taken as a joke, but it would not be surprising if it happens.

Nobody has used a new tactic on negotiations since Teddy Roosevelt . And Trump did a 180 on TR‘s tactics and caught the entire world unprepared .

I’m gonna watch a Rachel Maddow tonight to see if she cries .

I remember them saying that Trump wasn't for farmers, or something along those lines.

I'm surprised that they have not (yet) used his rallies as proof that he is trying to influence the results of the 2020 elections...

Aside from taking a stand on basic human rights, I don't think the protests, which is an interal Chinese issue, is really any of our concern.

Would China give two craps about the protest at last night's Trump rally?

I will wait until I see the actual details. China needs to be held accountable and needs to stop their unfair trade practices.

Unfortunately the Democrats have sold the country out and used this for political gain rather than standing with Trump and make the best deal possible for America.

HK fate was sealed when Britain sold them out in the 90s.

I'm not sure I see it as a "sell out", as the situation was a relic of Britain's colonialism, but yes, their eventual fate was sealed at that time.

It was a sell out. Britain knew exactly what would happen and did nothing to protect them. If Britain said the people of HK will vote/decide their fate, join you or stay with us, or be their own city nation, China could not have done anything at that time. That would have been the right thing, but could have gotten messy, so Britain did the convenient thing and said good luck have fun.

I can understand that view, but by your own admission, it would have gotten messy.

Britains had an expiring lease that came about during the opium wars a century before. I'm certainly not an expert on the situation, but I've always been under the impression that international law was on China's side, and Thatcher wasn't in a position to push the issue.
