'Disgraceful': Fox News apologizes to Greta Thunberg after guest calls her 'mentally ill'

“None of that matters because the climate hysteria movement is not about science,” Knowles said in a viral clip. “If it were about science, it would be led by scientists rather than by politicians and a mentally ill Swedish child who is being exploited by her parents and by the international left.”

Fox News confirmed to USA TODAY Tuesday that the network doesn’t plan on booking Knowles in the future.

“The comment made by Michael Knowles who was a guest on The Story tonight was disgraceful – we apologize to Greta Thunberg and to our viewers,” a spokesperson for Fox News said in a statement.

Just as we were talking here a few days ago, it seems the networks are perking up their coverage, trying to be equal to both sides and it seems holding their people more accountable.

Knowles will not be booked on FOX any more after his comments calling a child mentally ill.

Michael Knowles is about the only person I care to watch from the daily wire, ben is amusing sometimes but can get old. Not that I watch much daily wire(a video a week, maybe).

I wonder if he was attempting to be condescending or if he was using the language in a factual matter(is asbergers classified as a mental illness?).

A familiar technique of gaslighting is to pretend to care about someone’s mental health in order to make out they are crazy and shouldn’t be listened to.

Her parents are guilty of child abuse, in my book. They robbed her of her childhood, not the climate.

Don't blame the kid... the parents are the ones with a mental illness.

In her mother's book, she actually says that her daughter has mental issues. Maybe not in those words, but she says that she has OCD, and a few other things, some of which I have never heard.
Knowles is only quoting what her mother says in the book, that's all.

Sorry but you are incorrect here.

The form of Gaslighting (that you are mentioning here) is convincing someone that they have a mental illness over time by continuously manipulating them to doubt their own sanity or similar. The opposite of caring or understanding.

The parents have already mentioned/acknowledged Asperger's previously, which is classified as a mental illness, she has mentioned this herself too although believes it is a superpower.
