Ah, well. I’m not a Rothschild expert by any means. I’m sure we could look it up on google and see.
Are you proposing the Rothschild clan does not have incomprehensible amounts of wealth?

Nice cop out, but I'll help you since I'm feeling kind. Even if they owned 100% of the top 20 privately held companies on the planet it would barely get them to $1.5trillion, let alone the fantasy numbers you and the Original Poster are falling for.

I am. There may be wealthy decedents but it's not approaching the Buffet, Gates, Bezos or Ma levels of wealth, let alone the dopey numbers being bandied about in this thread.

I am with you that the wealth disparity needs to be addressed
The disagreement I have with you is that capitalism sucks
I agree in a way
But it is far and away the best system we have ever had, despite its many flaws
It’s easy to miss with all the gloom and doom
But thanks to free markets and personal property rights and the incentives they provide, the past few decades have seen the amount of people in crippling poverty in the world cut in half
That’s not to say we shouldn’t work to improve our system
But we should focus on the good along with the bad

Where does the Petro Dollar fit in all this?
A lot of people across the internet have all of a sudden been coming out of the wood work saying we have the Petro Dollar, not Capitalism to thank for our standard of living and prosperity. I see so many people defending it saying we need to take Iran out and any other countries that pose a threat to it.
This brings into question our economic system.
What would happen if the Soviet Union would have had the Petro Dollar instead of us?
Why are not people willing to drop the petro dollar and let capitalism alone do its magic if it such a great system?

I am also not consumed by greed and envy...
There are worse things to be consumed by than greed and envy...….like me for example.

Can't really complain if you keep voting in capitalist governments.

Vote in socialism and not only will you still be a person that has less than the power brokers, you will also be eating bugs just to avoid starving to death while working harder than ever with a gulag whip snapping at your back.
It ain't perfect, but capitalism at least partially insures you, and more importantly the next generation of you, has some means at your disposal to climb up into the next class. Socialism always falls into two classes, those that have and those that don't. Those that don't have never will; those that do have only lose it in violent revolution.
I rather prefer a constitutional republic with a capitalist barter system than a democratic central authority with socialist handouts.

Yup. And quite a few economist believe the new deal extended the depression.
