Light/ energy covers a very wide spectrum. So it is really hard for any instrument measurement to cover that whole spectrum.


So our eyes could be sensitive enough to see in low light circumstances, they couldn’t be so “armored” enough to handle the gamma rays end of the spectrum.


The reason evolution has not created perfection is because other life forms are all competing. We can only live 100ish years and our immune systems keep up with the viruses and such..


Here is the real question you are TOTALLY ignoring... evolution doesn’t pretend anything is perfect or done.. ever..

So why didn’t god make us perfect.. he is not some unconscious force throwing random dice like evolution.. he could actually just go “poof, you can see the whole light spectrum!”

OP does not understand evolution at all.
If our life and reproduction depended on directly being able to stare at the sun, then those that could do it the longest without dying would have evolved whereas those that can't would have not
After a few million years, we would have black tinted eyes and can look into the sun.

If however suddenly it would kill you to look directly into the sun, only those that are clever enough not to do it and those that the mate thinks are attractive because they have less black eyes would make a comeback.

Evolution never stands still, it changes and adapts.

This has been actually observed in real time with moths.

They started off light beige [in a specific location they were observing] and were quite happy there, but the trees because dark from car exhaust fumes and the bright moths were all easy picking for predators. However those with darker wings survived. After a while the once whitish moths were now sooty dark.

After cleaning up, the reverse happened again.


That's the beauty of evolution. It needs no big man with clay changing things every second of every day and every creature and cell. It does it all by by itself, without any consciousness needed.

Evolution cannot not be, it is and it works because it's intrinsic to the fabric of this reality.

Because we're still evolving and the sun is not a source of joy. It's a source of decay. It provides other things, of course, but ultimately, its a cancer giving, cellular breaking, happy funday giving thing for a while. then we die.
