If the atmospheric effects of climate change we've been told about actually existed, I'm pretty sure you'd have collapsed off that high horse thanks to a lack of oxygen by now. Yet there you sit... breathing in and out at altitude while smugly believing in BS and allowing it to feed an irrational hatred of capitalism.

I utilize ancient Chinese breathing techniques that make me impervious to the effects of altitude, but that's probably a subject for another thread/forum.

Just because Twitler refuses to acknowledge the reports of the scientists in his own administration--similar to Exxon-Mobil burying the results of it's own research (just like big tobacco)--or some physicist with right-wing leanings (probably stock in Exxon-Mobil too) disagrees with the vast majority of scientists who specialize in studying climate change and the environment, doesn't mean we shouldn't listen to them. The fossil fuel cabal and those who profit from it clearly have a motive to label it BS, and it's not scientific....

Regardless, Ive always felt an actual course of action is to significantly increase the efficiency of resource consumption per capita. Something that folks of any persuasion can get behind since, if its done right, its a "win" for everyone involved.

Thats predicated on the notion that these folks want to actually "solve" the problems they rail and preach against though. Im definitely not convinced they do.. It also reduces the chances of "solutions" being introduced at all, as most will be too busy fighting for/against the narrative to do anything else.

But.. Doing it this way gives a real easy continuous platform to manipulate folks. It also provides a nice chance of accumulating little bits and pieces of control over time, both of minds and legislation.

I agree with this, too. If those advocating lower populations would lead by example and R. Budd Dwyer themselves en masse on international TV, I'd applaud their decision and consider them to be quite brave and committed to their beliefs.

If the population keeps multiplying like it has the last 200 years and we do not make a breakthrough soon in energy and find ways to spread through the solar system then we will certainly doom ourselves.

A breakthrough in fusion would solve most problems and even make expansion into space much easier. Energy is the key to it all.

Right. It's always things like "crony capitalism" when the government helps out a fledgling solar or wind company. But we'll just go right on subsidizing the fossil fuel industry. Subsidies are subsidies. Left or right, subsidies don't belong in a truly "free market."

Yes, we should attend to what the scientists are telling us. They aren't inventing a boogeyman--and you seem like a smart enough fellow to get that, whether or not you choose to acknowledge it. I fail to see how attending to the science isn't rational.

I agree with you on subsidies... and don't stop at corporations. Taxes should be restricted to PURELY the costs of defense, community infrastructure, and law and regulatory enforcement and oversight. From that, NOBODY, corporation or citizen, should see a cent of subsidy. Your company lives or dies by it's own volition, YOU live or die by your own volition. That's freedom... the freedom to choose to succeed and thrive or the freedom to choose to fail and die.

Overpopulation, like so many other issues in the world like drug abuse, poverty, homelessness, and to a large degree stupidity are self correcting problems if and only if humanity stops meddling and allows nature to do what nature does.

I agree that there is way to many people, but to start with "mass" abortion wouldent solve anything. If we went back to basic for maybe 20 years or so, where only the strong survive and the health care system wouldent try to keep everyone alive. nature would do the job, I know it would be nasty and never happen cause babies children teens adults seniors and old people will die, we ourselves or someone we love or know

The entirety of the worlds population can fit in the state of Texas, with housing and room to spare. By the time we threaten to truly overpopulate the world, we should have space colonization down pat.

Perhaps but the problem with all the resource that is harvested from earth would still be the same. We are killing the natural circle of lives for sea and land living creaturs with pollution or adjustments that severly decrease their food resources,making a buffet for some and starvation for others. I dont blive in climate changes ala its the polution only and so on, but i believe if we poop on the natural circle we get problems one form or another cause from a micro organism to us, we are all here for a reason to keep the circle alive,but only with what we need not by mass harvesting all resources and just throw all the meat and whats not, out just because it dosent get sold
