Suddenly, fluoride is being outed as the poison that it is.

It is a little more complicated than that...... Fluoride prevents iodine absorbsion.

It's interesting that people are interested in making sure they're absorbing enough iodine, considering iodine is a known poison at higher doses just as people are saying about fluoride.

I guess that old saying "pick your poison" is really true.

Is it likely that people get too much iodine unless they are actively taking supplements?

And people are not picking fluoride as their poison..... it is added to toothpaste and water supplies.

And fluoride is not just a poison at higher levels...... exposure to sodium fluoride depletes the safe levels of iodine.
Remember that exposure to fluoride is 24/7 (if you live in an area that puts fluoride in the water supply) plus extra each morning and each night when you clean your teeth.

Higher levels of iodine can actually prevent cancer.

Holy crap at the pro fluoride garbage in here.

You want it so bad? You have it, I don't want it and it shouldn't be forced on me because you disagree. Facts are facts about what fluoride is, and it's a neurotoxin that passes through the blood brain barrier, reduces IQ in children and displaces calcium in your bones and teeth, it's likely a major contributor to osteoporosis.

But don't you worry, your teeth will fall out if you don't use it.

There you go. Pick your poison. Less cancer, but more hypothyroidism. With fluoride it's mild neurotoxicity (spit it out, folks!) and possibly dumber kids (show me a reliable IQ measuring system), or worse teeth that create an increased risk of heart disease.

And I'm sure nobody here who is scared of fluoride drinks alcohol in any amount, huh? I'm sure of that because it would be crazy to ingest highly toxic ethanol directly into your system.

You are pretty safe unless you are drinking toothpaste. It is all about the dose and you would have to be drinking far more than gallons of water a day to reach a dangerous dose.

Same with meth and heroin and other dangerous and lethal substances. Are you saying it's ok because there isn't enough poison in a glass of water to kill anyone? The fact is, it's poison and it is being added to the water. But I guess it's ok right? Let's just dilute sewage water down to an acceptable level and drink that up, i mean, it's ok right because it's not enough sewage to make a difference. point is....it's there because it's been added and it shouldn't be.

A few things that can't be argued; fluoride reduces thyroid function. Thyroid dysfunction is the leading cause of many illnesses.

The study below shows they found greater impairment of thyroid function from those that drink a higher amount of water due to the existence of fluoride.

www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov...

The argument that fluoride is ok at low dosages is laughable. Once you study what fluoride physically does to the thyroid, you understand that no dosage is ok. Fluoride will damage your thyroid no matter how much you have. Low dosage just damages the thyroid at a slower pace, and negative symptoms are not immediately visible.

Even then, we should be able to drink as much water as needed without needing to worry about how much fluoride we consumed. Drinking is not the only method you are taking in fluoride either, you take baths and showers as well, and it is absorbed into your skin. You brush your teeth and some leaches into your blood and is also swallowed. You eat foods made with it. It's almost impossible to stay in the "recommended dosage" range because its impossible for average people to measure how much is consumed.

Back around 1999 there was a huge lawsuit in a neighboring city that my friend lived in where they accidentally added too much fluoride to the drinking water. My friend now has hypothyroidism because of their mistake. Hundreds of people were impacted and now have to take medications for the rest of their life because of it. They won the lawsuit but only got $125 from it. That just shows the people adding it are not accurately measuring it either. How do we know they are mixing it evenly? We don't.

What about our pets? A year ago I moved from a city that doesn't add fluoride to the water, to a city that does (didn't think about it until recently). My perfectly healthy cat suddenly started getting seizures out of nowhere, and no one knows why. We have ruled out everything. The only change was the water. The cat was prescribed anti-convulsion medications until a few months ago when I decided to take him off, and only give it pure water. He's cured, hasn't had a seizure yet.

My own health took a nose dive as well when I moved here. I suddenly have eczema on my skin out of nowhere, and I have found so many people in this city with eczema as well. There is a huge eczema pandemic going on silently, and no one realizes it because its embarrassing to discuss. At on point I spend a few weeks out of town and all my symptoms vanished. Then I get home and a week later eczema comes back. I put a filter on my shower that claims to get 95% fluoride out, and things are looking much better. I also switched to fluoride free toothpaste, and funny enough some other recent issues I've had with memory and focus are going away too.

There is something to this and we shouldn't be quick to dismiss it.

If I had it my way I would immediately stop adding fluoride to all drinking water until there is more concrete studies done. There should be zero reasonable doubt that its harmless, and even then it still shouldn't be added.

Flouride has been keeping Americans teeth strong for hundreds of years.

It's cost effective and produces great results

I'm playing a real life civ game and fluoride was the best option for my civilization.

Do you realize that in addition to fluoridating water, why, there are studies underway to fluoridate salt, flour, fruit juices, soup, sugar, milk, ice cream? Ice cream, Mandrake? Children's ice cream!...You know when fluoridation began?...1946. 1946, Mandrake. How does that coincide with your post-war Commie conspiracy, huh? It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? A foreign substance is introduced into our precious bodily fluids without the knowledge of the individual, and certainly without any choice. That's the way your hard-core Commie works. I first became aware of it, Mandrake, during the physical act of love...Yes, a profound sense of fatigue, a feeling of emptiness followed. Luckily I-I was able to interpret these feelings correctly. Loss of essence. I can assure you it has not recurred, Mandrake. Women, er, women sense my power, and they seek the life essence. I do not avoid women, Mandrake...but I do deny them my essence.
