Those silly Democrats and their “by any means necessary” mentality. They will do anything to subvert the Democratic process and then accuse you of doing what they themselves did to cheat.

"Trump’s reelection arguably presents a threat to the U.S. and global economy, to the Fed’s independence and its ability to achieve its employment and inflation objectives,”

Huh? Trump is hurting their employment objectives? Are they trying to not have record low unemployment? Is their objective Obama levels of unemployment? Isn't inflation below wage growth right now?

What is their objective?

This seems like when the Bank of England decides to devalue the pound. Historically it has happened quite a few times, and the average citizen ALWAYS loses.

F$$$ those people.

Build a wall and shoot them against it.

Just kidding, of course I am kidding.

Well what's wrong with letting a group of very powerful unelected people decide policy for our country?

I'm sure the Federal Reserve is just looking out for the average American, said no one ever.

But at least they're not Russian so it's okay

is this guy stupid, does he not realize that would lead to martial law and everyone involved with such a plot would probably be arrested and executed for treason, followed by the federal reserve act being revoked and who knows what else. everyone would quickly find out how terrible the US government can be without the Constitution protecting the people.

No, it shouldn't. That is a bunch of propaganda.

For some reason since I voted for Trump people think I bow down to Fox News. They are the most unbiased, I will give them that but they are not all pro-Trump. At all.

Doom and Gloom predictions since 2015 and nothing but a strong economy so what better way to sway voters than to scare them with a Recession. It is not time yet. There should have been another recession in 2016 as predicted and I am sure if HRC would have won it would have 'happened' not because of her policy per se but because of the Progressives who want the country to be slaves and have since Woodrow Wilson f'd our country for ever.

The past Administration had a FED rate of 0 and could not spur the economy for the people. Imagine if they did it now for Trump when we are strong.

This is another good propoganda piece. If you read the headline only, like most do now a days, it looks like the FED is cutting rates for the first time since Obama was in office. Not true. When Trump came into office they started raising it...

good old CNN...see how they word it...

The Federal Reserve on Wednesday lowered interest rates for the first time since the Great Recession in 2008 to help stave off the possibility of an economic downturn.

July 13, 1990 — Sept 4, 1992: 8.00%–3.00% (Includes 1990–1991 recession)
Feb 1, 1995 — Nov 17, 1998: 6.00–4.75
May 16, 2000 — June 25, 2003: 6.50–1.00 (Includes 2001 recession)
June 29, 2006 — (Oct. 29 2008): 5.25–1.00
Dec 16, 2008 — 0.0–0.25
Dec 16, 2015 — 0.25–0.50

Dec 14, 2016 — 0.50–0.75
Mar 15, 2017 — 0.75–1.00
Jun 14, 2017 — 1.00–1.25
Dec 13, 2017 — 1.25–1.50
Mar 21, 2018 — 1.50–1.75
Jun 13, 2018 — 1.75–2.00
Sep 26, 2018 — 2.00–2.25
Dec 19, 2018 — 2.25–2.50
Jul 31, 2019 — 2.00–2.25

Wow...look at 2008 to 2015....Like I said. Manipulation when needed and always has been.

I'm for higher interest rates. It's undoubtedly being weaponized at the moment, but it absolutely should happen.

RE: www.zerohedge.com...

OMG..For taking such an "activist" role, the Federal Reserve should be purged and restocked with new people.

Tariffs take a long time to change corporate spending habits, DJT knows this and suggests the market fear is the fault of the Federal Reserve and asks if he can fire Powell for not following his order to immediately cut interest rates by 1%.

I think the Fed chairman is illustrating just how ridiculous the situation is.

They must be doing some reality testing for the kids like 1963?
