Complete intolerance. I'm an ordained minister. I married two very nice women, one of which I had worked with for 15 years.

Upon the election, when they found out we had voted for Trump and not Killary, they basically de-friended us. Claimed that Trump was going to eliminate their marriage. How could we vote for him? Well, they are still married, yet they won't admit they are wrong.

So much for the tolerant left.

Fred..

I was respecting what you said until you threw in the name "Killary".....for being an ordained minister you would think you would be a little bit more mature, but I guess not.

Even worse than all the gays saying his first move they knew was gonna be nullifying gay marriage and removing their protection in the Civil Rights Act Equal Opportunity Employment and Accomodations/Fair and Equal Treatment clauses or the nutcase feminazis saying his first move would be overturning Roe vs Wade, were the many black people on YouTube (I kid you not) posting vicious smear videos condemning Trump for the, "fact," that he had announced he would be repealing the 14th and reinstating slavery. Not slavery in a metaphorical sense either; seriously, they were under the impression a win for Trump meant they would be rounded up after the election by white neighbors or special Klan task forces like sloughs of people who fulfill the roles of some kind of Looney Tune's, Pound Puppies, and Lady and the Tramp stereotypical-of-cartoons, big, bad, and obsessive dog catchers. They actually bought that they would be shackled and driven in the back of am extended cab Toyota Prius to a farm or manor house where they would be whipped till broken then made to tend to fields or serve in aristocratic homes, wherever they are sold to. I mean, the fact that I'm 2019 a person can fear that and not think, "no way, it's just not compatible with 21st century American society to practice overt enslavement, it must be a mistake," is truly pathetic. It goes so far beyond what simpleton Boomers or Gen X-Men would fall for that it's not even slightly entertaining, just shameful and embarrassing.

And French-word-for-seal me! Hillary Clinton actually said several times that one of her first acts as POTUS, if she had her way, would be to order a preemptive nuclear strike on Russia. Hello, is she not aware of the GMA policy between Russia and the United States!? The promise after one warhead fired by either side to immediately commit to guaranteed mutual annihilation!?!? And those fools are scared they will wake up to running from a mob of white-clad old men with nets on poles. Good grief (must havebeen thinking of Good Morning America lol I guess the term is MBA OR MAD...Mutual BilateralAnnihilation or Mutually Assured Detruction).

I have a story about this very subject that shows how people with type of mentality will cut off their noses to spite their faces. I did pro-bono work for the daughter of a friend, to the tune of several thousand dollars for several years leading up to the 2016 election. She founded a very worthwhile non-profit that helps raise money for scholarships for students who have at least one parent in prison. I also donated money to the non-profit despite paying for my kids’ college tuitions myself with only their academic scholarships helping out. When Trump won the election, this person posted on every social media site that if you hadn’t voted for Hillary, and most especially if you voted for Trump, to unfriend her because she considered you to be a mysoginist, racist, etc. Needless to say, I haven’t donated another dollar, nor another minute, to her foundation. Even more incredible, when Trump signed the prison reform bill—something she had lobbied for when Obama was in office—she went on an expletive-laced tirade on social media saying how dare he try to hijack their agenda and take credit for prison reform. That was the day I blocked her from all social media...that is insanity.

So you admit that you have no agency.

That is insane, and sad. You totally get what I'm saying. When these people only have each other whose money are they going to spend??

Let's just completely ignore that both sides do this exact same thing. The Trumper approach is different, "iF U donT LieK iT uNfrEnd mEH", after posting something that is purposefully offensive.

It is completely insane! As a person asking for money from others for her non-profit, it is just nuts to have that attitude. I am self-employed, and while I have my own political leanings, I never publicize them to my clients, nor anywhere that the people who help pay my bills might see. I work for Democrats and Republicans alike, but the attitude by many Democrats toward anyone who voted for Trump is at the level that they need some psychological help or therapy.

Um, "good?"

That would be my standard answer to any ultimatum like that from anyone. This isn't High School musical. I don't need any more damn friends.

People go crazy over politics. Imo for no reason. Today my friend was like I'll bet you 100 Trump loses the next election. I said I could really care less if he wins or not, but to get him I said okay deal. Now tell me the candidate who beats him. He just stopped talking.

I agree with this...

Anywho, I was thrown out of my brother in law's house for being "racist". My crime? Saying "I don't think Trump is all that bad". BTW I was there with a friend who is an illegal immigrant...

People are losing their ever loving minds!! for what?

Some of my friends are on the opposite side, makes no difference to us, we argue, make our points, then laugh at each other. No big deal, we are all still friends.

That's life for the vast majority of us, however the internet/social media has given a certain percentage of the population an outlet for attitude that is somewhat undesirable, I bet the majority of trills on the social media wouldn't dare talk the crap they do face to face

I'm not saying i have no agency but rather that this guy fiddles with the structure within which agency develops and thrives. To me, agency and structure kinda go hand in hand. It's my position that free agency is not a given but rather a development of reinforcement of internal pressures towards individuality established within a given and stable environment.

I'm sure you're right, still a bummer for some who have lost a friend..I doubt the real sincerity of those friendships though.

Any friend with conditions upon your friendship is not a true friend. I say good riddance.

Exactly, if you're losing friends because of a political belief the friendship is probably best terminated.

Some people say their families have disownwed them over political beliefs, I think we can put that down to you can't choose your Family.

My very good friend is a Red Sox fan and if I can tolerate that level of stupidity and ignorance I can handle whomever they happen to vote for with tact.

Yup,
My best friend is a Cowboys fan, from Texas no less. A living breathing human cockroach.
But here we are great friends for 15 years now.

I never once heard if you vote for Hillary, we can't be friends, or if you vote for Obama, we can't be friends,

Me either. However, even if you have not, I have heard at least here on this site, that if you voted for Clinton or Obama you are a snowflake, a moron, a dimwit a brainwashed member of the masses, a sheep. Shall I go on?

Our people are resilient and many have the ability to bend and flex with political winds. But this guy is a divider and it is his meat and potatoes. He is winning at that game and has us to the point where he is breaking up long standing friendships. It's not that one side or the other is a snow flake or has too thin a skin, it's that this guy is playing to our deepest fears. And he is winning. He is making us doubt ourselves and our friends. I put it all on him.

How odd... I've never met the President, nor heard him say anything of the sort, as you are articulating here.

Are you his neighbor? Do you work in the White House?

The only thing I have heard for the last three years, has been a constant Chicken Little hysterical screed from American Media, who slices and dices everything Bad Orange Man says, but never says a word when Dems of lefties says the same or WORSE.

My point... newsflash neighbor. It's MEDIA, NOT TRUMP, who is fully invested in dividing America.

Are you having that much trouble with discernment to see the obvious?
