Being from Kentucky I’m pretty familiar with bluegrass music . ( though not highly versed )

I don’t know any groups that play the anvil I’ll give you that . Lol

But

Bluegrass is a music with a long and storied history, starting with the first immigrants to settle in the Appalachian mountains. An aspect of that history that is being explored more and more frequently, as modern bands seek to expand the sound to its fullest, is the use of the accordion.

www.musikalessons.com...

The only reason I remembered this was. I just saw a bluegrass band with an accordion in Rockcastle KY .

Cheers

Mr Bungle is a group that should be more well known than it is.

They had their career damaged by Anthony Kiedis (Chilli Peppers). From the Wiki page it says...

Singer Mike Patton was known to have had a bad relationship with the Red Hot Chili Peppers' frontman Anthony Kiedis, beginning when Kiedis saw Patton performing with Faith No More and accused him of imitating his style.[14] California was scheduled to be released on June 8, 1999, but Warner Bros. Records pushed it back so as not to coincide with the Red Hot Chili Peppers similarly titled album, Californication, which was to be released on the same day. Following the album release date clash, Kiedis had Mr. Bungle removed from a series of summer festivals in Europe; as the headlining act at the festivals, The Red Hot Chili Peppers had final word on the bands that would appear.

A particular favourite of mine by them is Egg.

Bluegrass is one of few things I can speak on at length without resorting to gross generalities; still, I feel as if I've committed an egregious error trying to tell a Kentuckian about the music. Apologies.

Not a rock band but this is not well known.
These guys are like old eminem and icp. But better.
They also dress as gangster clowns and demons.

But this is one of the best heavy metal/death metal bands of all time but nobody really knows them.
That's not one of their best but youtube doesn't seem to have much on them at all.

Acid baths first album's artwork is a painting done by john wayne gacy. When the kite string pops.

Their first album was all heavy except this one song.

Here's a good one from their 2ed album.

Truth be known I’m not very partial to Bluegrass.

When I mentioned I saw a group in Rockcastle earlier. I neglected to say that it was at a Baptist festival in a completely dry county .

I was as anxious to get out of there as a whore in church . Lol

I just posted about Acid Bath in another thread. All these years later and their two albums are still a strong part of my rotation. Love them.

I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir here, but just in case others are discovering Acid Bath for the first time here - a couple of the members went on to other projects that are worth a listen as well...

The singer, Dax remained active for quite awhile in a few other projects such as Agents of Oblivion, Deadboy and the Elephantmen, T-Darks and His White Plastic Soul and under his full name, Dax Riggs.

Dax's music is less metal than Acid Bath. He hates the comparison I'm told but I really see him as a modern day Jim Morrison.

One of the guitarists, Sammy, is in a band called Goatwhore - some really good, hardcore death metal.
