Chaos erupted in Times Square on Tuesday night as people stormed out of the area when a backfiring motorcycle was mistaken for gunshots.
The false alarm took place around 10 p.m. as a loud boom sent tourists darting into restaurants and theaters, disrupting a performance of āTo Kill a Mockingbirdā at the Shubert Theatre on 44th Street near 7th Avenue.
āStopped our show tonight due to a motorcycle backfire that was mistaken for a bomb or shooting,ā tweeted cast member Gideon Glick.
āScreaming civilians tried to storm our theater for safetyā¦ This is the world we live in. This cannot be our world.ā

Saw that, it's actually kind of sad.
Sad from so many angles.
People get so whipped up in the narrative and are so fearful, I guess that's a good thing though, if you seek to control them(their minds).

That's Times Square which is tourist central, no one from the New York area goes there.

I'm sure all the people that are picking pockets of tourists in times square are native new yorkers.

One person can start something like that. They overreact and scream something about a shooter . That one person becomes two, two becomeās three......... .
At some point herd mentality takes over , flight versus flight and self-preservation and all the other base instincts.
