Other thread here.
I don't have the 'other current events' forum in my favorites and considered this to be 'breaking news' so I posted this here.

Politicizing another tragedy much?
American Socialist says it all. America cannot handle socialism and it's a seriously bad idea to disarm your citizens.

Seems like it’s never the right time for a gun debate. When is the right time?
Countries without such free access to weapons do not suffer these atrocities on such a regular basis.

Why is it people only report on certain mass shootings? Why is it that no one makes threads about 90% of the mass shootings in America? What about the other 247 "mass murders" (literally means 4 or more people dead) of 2019? Did that not fit the gun control/political narrative? What do you think would be solved by taking away the legal right to own a firearm? Do you think that criminals will magically not have guns or use them if they were banned?

Yeah, that's not true. If you plot gun violence rates on a chart with gun ownership rates by country, there is no correlation. There's countries with high gun availability that do not have this problem, and countries like ours with high gun availability that do. On the other hand, there are countries with low gun availability that have very little gun violence and also countries with low gun availability that have tons of gun violence.
If the availability of guns was the primary factor, that would not be the case. Gun availability is not the cause. That's a statistical fact.
